Tik Tok didn't hedge against this possibility, they didn't realize that if you give the US an inch they will take a mile.

What they should have done was build a headquarters in a European country and distributed the data around the world. Placing any valuable infrastructure in America is now a clear security hazard. If only the Chinese bourgeoisie weren't so lazy and desperate to integrate w/ America.

Both banned by the Chinese Communist Party.

It was a good decision too. One of the better decisions the party made, with great foresight.

If they ban TikTok in America, so what, to be expected, that tit-for-tat thingy.

If they force the sale of TikTok in America, then it is much more interesting.

I actually think US is preparing for war, to attack China kinetically soon. I can almost understand the motivation to ban tiktok but the only reason why they would ban wechat is if they fear wechat could be used to topple the us petrodollar hegemony or if US about to go to hot war with China. my money is on the later

And symbolism is what it's all about here. For years the US has been accusing China of stifling free speech by banning Facebook and Youtube. Once they ban Tiktok, an entire generation of Americans will realize they've been lied to.

And that matters. Look at HK. See how many youths are brainwashed by American propaganda. Banning Tiktok will be a hammer blow against their delusions.

This is propaganda gold, if they force the sale of TikTok to American interests, then Trump appoints himself ass CEO of the New American TikTok, where he will promptly bust a move, a shake n shake of dance moves to classical Fascism.

I think you guys give too credits toward those youngsters both in the US and HK. It would take much more than banning TikTok to awaken them.
