Well that's fine but everybody was just talking about TikTok so I gave my 2 cents that the TikTok situation is not the same or as devious as the Huawei situation. That's all I was saying. You can complain and say that the US is playing dirty in general and I definitely agree but such a complaint leads to nowhere. Of all the things that America has done recently (most prominently using unidentified agents in unmarked vans to beat and abduct its own citizens who protest), it's clear that America doesn't care about morality anymore. It's gonna be as ugly as it can; I don't think there's much of a point emphasizing it again and again. Even Pompeo said it's all about cheating, lying, stealing. Finding things to chastise America about from a moral standpoint is so easy it's not worth doing in my opinion. It's like going on and on about why rapists and murderers are bad people LOL. The interesting question is how will China overcome all of that ugliness which is obviously meant to stunt China's ascent.

I disagree. China should ramp up the rhetoric of the US being a liar, cheater, and thief. It should be said in every opportunity that China got and made sure as many people have known this simple fact. Then when time is right, China can do payback and defend itself by accusing the US being the one started it. It is a way to level the playing field.

I meant on here, where everybody already knows and agrees on America's insidiousness, there's no point. I have no problems with China getting louder on America's human rights abuses, etc... on the international stage to embarrass them.

Agree, but I don't think TikTok situation is that much different from Huawei. Even if TikTok chose to exit the US market, the Trump administration has mentioned that it would probably make a total ban by prohibiting Android or IOS from installing the app. In the end of the day, the US stranglehold of the World after the downfall of USSR is so omnipresent that most companies would get crushed if it stands on the way.

I would not be surprised if even after selling the US operations, Tiktok is put on the entity list and ends up getting banned still. That way Microsoft-Tiktok gets to take over the international market share of the original ByteDance-owned Tiktok. Essentially knock out two birds with one stone. The US govt have shown they don't play fair at all, there's more to come later..

Least anyone forgets, Trump announced it forced TSMC to cut ties with Huawei hours after TSMC agreed to build the fab in AZ
And now Nvidia buying up ARM is another strategic move against China/Huawei
Nvidia prides itself on being an ""AI First" company, no longer thinks of itself as foremost a gaming company anymore... so I guess it ain't playing around, if you catch my drift. (CEO is also from TW)

Here is the game plan for them:

They gonna force Bytedance to sell TickTok to Microsoft. Then Microsoft is going to slowly dismember it. TickTok will cease to exist.

That’s exactly what happened to France’s Alstom.

And you can forget about the US paying top dollar for TickTok. It’s going to be forcefully sold at fire sale price or be banned.

Using dollars to buy up everything before people realize they have useless paper.

China would be the biggest loser in the end if the government doesn't do something about it.

The next round of stimulus looks like another $2 trillion.

plus news is US gov wants China to buy more of their debt again

more like they know the house of cards are collapsing and need to find a sucker to hold the bag while they head for exits
