Miscellaneous News

it's going to be interesting, from the point of view of propaganda, to compare the official
  • after the Vincennes took down the Iranian airliner, and
  • after Iranians took down its airliner now
I'm working on Bolognese sauce, but will take a look soon

EDIT actually I'm not going to post that, because Deino didn't allow me to open a thread about this downing, and it's
Breaking & World News! III NO DISCUSSION!!

Not even my coldest most jaded assessment of the Iranians paints their regime as that vile. I mean that’s some really mustache twirling evil.
If they killed a bunch of innocent civilians not a single American citizen in the lot just to show they mean business... that’s some sick stuff right there.

People can just hope there was still some sanity in what amounts to instigation to a possible all-out war. When you have one side behaving like a mad dog and the other side reacting like a mad dog, the outcome could have been much more deadly.

I guess it's important as it should be of interest to know who'd pulled the trigger and how the propaganda machine reacted afterwards

actually it's an opportunity for purging the chain of command, so let's wait and see

If you call that vile, wait till what they do to their enemies.
What they do to their own citizens is pretty vile.
Shooting down a third party airliner to make a point? is a whole other level. To direct, to self defacing/incriminating. A bomb is more their style pass it off to a proxy. 40 years of Iranian US Middle East history shows that.

The US and Iran, Saudi Arabia and Iran, Israel and Iran have been in brushfire conflicts for decades. The Iranians tend to favor arming and funding proxies, one sided stand offs. Embassy attacks, Bombing barracks, assassinations, kidnapping soldiers And civilians, Mining/attacking/seizing civilian ships. These are the old standbys of the IRGC. This is to out there for them.
I suspect it was more a nervous tigger finger event than a intentional shot down.
They of course want to still blame shift. I am sure “American adventurism” will be stated. Which would translate as they panicked and thought it was an F/A18 on a attack run. Like how the Russians went to bat for Syria and claimed a Israeli F16 was luring the missile to their plane.

has this construct (begins with Собеседник указал, что ... and all three points have to be considered at once):
  1. there might be a US drone hidden around the airliner
  2. Iranians used a MANPAD (not

    gives)
  3. Iranians hit the airliner though, and admitted to it because of political reasons, as now all praise them for courage to admit to the downing
it took me several minutes to grasp this, so I though I might share -- could be of interest to conspiracy-inclined members LOL

Assassinating a top general is escalating to another level. I can't imagine what could happen if this were to happen in North Korea. All-out war would have broken out already if Iran did not "stand down" (at least for now) and Trump kept to his word of all-out retaliation if Iran responded with force.

True. Now imagine what they would do to their true enemies.
