Honestly, China should refocus its branding on pragmatism and competence instead of competing to play the morality card (i.e. human rights or democracy) with the West. Measuring itself with them on self-righteousness is like wrestling a pig in the mud and is a waste of time for everyone.

China should instead focus on its strong points like how its system is practical and efficient unlike the West which is divisive, corrupt and broken. China can talk about its own successes and how it can use its knowledge, expertise and resources to save the world. It's message to the rest of the world is leave China alone or even join it because China will solve climate climate or bring the humanity back on the moon. This way it can leverage common interests and display its strengths to build soft power with nations especially since many already dislike the arrogance and recklessness of American hegemony.

The offer of a faux moral crusade or civilizational progress? It should focus on changing the debate to that instead of who is or isn't democracy or virtual signaling? I think it would be able to sell itself far better that way.
