There are not that many Solomon Chinese but what the Chinese embassy did NOTHING that show callousness of Chinese regime. Doing nothing will only encourage more aggression We see it China trade China did nothing when the US sanction Huawei Now they keep piling up one sanction after another. The same with Taiwan the west keep testing the limit by pushing socalled "Red line" what china did nothing but open their mouth as usual Coward!

They say American military in Taiwan is red line yet they know American military was in Taiwan for decade and they did nothing! So stop your knee jerk defending China
I get your frustration. But let's not get too far ahead with conclusions of Chinese cowardice. The Chinese government DID take action during times of real emergency to its Chinese nationals. The Chinese government evacuated Chinese nationals from Libya (2014) and Yemen (2015). In both of those cases, war had already broken out, and the 'governments' in Libya and Yemen could not guarantee the safety of Chinese citizens working and living there. Notice that in both Libya and Yemen, they were practically failed states when China was doing the evacuation.

In the case of the Solomon Islands, there is no all-out war yet, and the China-friendly govt had not yet fallen. The Chinese foreign ministry did condemned the violence and urged the govt to protect the Chinese citizens there. I believe that China would really act if the situation deteriorates further to the point where there are targeted killings and massacres on the Chinese citizens there. Perhaps the first step is to get the embassy to arrange flights for Chinese evacuees out of the country. If that is not possible, then China should call on the UN to help with peacekeepers, and send the PLAN to come and assist the evacuation, just like in Libya and Yemen.

China does not need to go in guns blazing to rescue its citizens. The current Solomon Islands govt is being trusted right now to do their part to protect Chinese citizens there. If they fail for whatever reasons, then China could call on the UN to send in peacekeepers to the Solomon Islands to assist and protect the evacuation of its citizens. This has been done countless times before. If the Chinese and UN peacekeeping force do come, we should be expecting them to only focus on evacuation. Not for taking revenge on any past atrocities committed on Chinese citizens there. China is better than the US, let's just keep it that way. But if any rioters or terrorists dare attempt to attack the evacuation process, then the UN peacekeepers have the mandate to retaliate proportionally.

Again, like a broken record, I have to repeat, China did do something for a local Chinese diaspora. I'm talking about 2015 Malaysia. That year, for some reason or another, the local political landscape found it convenient to scapegoat the local Chinese population for everything wrong under the sun. One politician/thug promised to come to the local Chinatown with even more thugs to teach the Chinese a lesson. The police were just standing there, observing.

But before the those thugs could carry out their threat, the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia went on a walk in Chinatown, and with the country's press on location, delivered a speech for the ages. "China and Malaysia are close friends, and it would be a pity if that would be jeopardized by some irresponsible behaviours. And China would not stand idly by to allow this to happen."

Next day, that thug was in police custody, and the troubles pretty much ended there and then.

I was shocked and truly grateful for China's actions that day. I never would have thought China would do something so forceful and in the open to help the local Chinese diaspora, or at least did not expect China to do it in 2015. But the local Chinese didn't abused this gesture, and we never expect this to be the case all the time. We are law abiding Malaysians, and we do contribute to the development of Malaysia.

What I'm trying to say is that, we shouldn't expect China to come to our rescue, violating every bilateral relationship with the country in concern, so that we can feel to be a part of the new Imperial Japanese Empire. I would strive to make sure that me or my offspring would be armed with the skills to be able to make a living and contribute to China's development in the future, so that, in the event that we would have to relocate back to our ancestral homeland, we would be more easily accepted back.

But I'm quietly confident if we have tried our best, sincerely, but still fall off short somehow, that China would still accept us. This is my trust in them.
Nice, do you have any video about the Chinese ambassador speech or some news related to that?

She ended up like that because she asked for it by picking the husband she chose. She doesn't respect herself so nobody has any reason to respect her. No sympathy.

Morons from CGTN banned Tom Fowdry for speaking the truth. They really are their own worst enemies.

Banning Tom Fowdy from CGTN over his genuine criticism of CGTN is indeed tragic. I have been very critical of the Chinese media for years for their extremely poor PR skills vs any decent media in the West, SEA, HK, Japan, and SK. This was horribly exposed during the 2019 HK riots. China lost the information war hands down. This information war defeat had serious consequences. It resulted in the terrible outcomes of the HK local elections, Tsai winning her presidential election, divided China's image among the overseas Chinese communities, and worse of all, failed to stop the tsunami of Sinophobia since 2019.

That being said. The Chinese media today is objectively better than it was in 2019. In 2019, watching how CGTN covered the HK riots was quite a sad experience. They later learned to do better with their talk shows with Liu Xin, Wang Guan, and etc. But they are still miles behind the corporate medias of the 'free-world'. They should do a lot more collaboration with other like-minded media like RT to figure out a way to improve their reporting work. If I were the Chinese govt, I would try to buy out the SCMP, perhaps keep Yonden, and some of their more sensible journalists, and then purge it of their pure anti-China shills. Make SCMP more neutral, no more hating on China, but also give enough space to argue genuine constructive criticism of China.

I hope Tom Fowdy doesn't get too discouraged by this CGTN censor. His criticism of Chinese state media is legitimate because it was a constructive criticism. He must continue to combat the anti-China disinformation campaign. Eventually, the Chinese media will learn their lessons and recognize him again.

PS. I do hope that the Chinese State Propaganda start to reign in Victor Gao. His interviews with the Australian media, and even CGTN America were disasters for China's PR campaign. I get his intentions, but his views are also quite hawkish, and he has a problem of expressing his views a bit too crudely. I would prefer a someone like Eric Li to be interviewed by the Western media. He is far more grounded and sophisticated than Victor.
