But but but debt trap diplomacy... xD
Its actually quiet a bad look on India when their promised infrastructure plans are cancelled by their partners, first Iran and now Sri Lanka.
Well Iran kicked them out because during Trump sanctions they followed US' lead and didn't do business with it. So now they go with China

Meanwhile in Sri Lanka, India keeps interfering into the internal affairs of the country. And Japan is overcharging them. So, China with its non-interference policy, with low cost, and with helping Sri Lanka many times with currency swaps, it won the deal

From the article:

Sri Lanka had signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan and India in May 2019, under previous President Maithripala Sirisena, to jointly develop the Colombo terminal. "The operating company would be 51% owned by the Sri Lankan government, with the rest held by Japan and India."

Rajapaksa, who took office in November of that year, indicated at first that the project would stay on course.

"That changed this past February, when the cabinet decided that the operating company would be wholly owned by Sri Lanka, pushing Japan and India out of the project."The Japanese government called the unilateral move "regrettable."

How is this a possible "DEBT TRAP" for Sri Lanka when the above mentioned key aspect of the deal is a much better one than one the Japanese and Indians offered. These propagandists man are something else. They also made it seemed like the current President is corrupt or in cahoots with China for "reneging" on their supposed deal. Countries like India and Japan are just being sour puss and whining like the typical American vassal states that they are.
