Meng has a mansion in Canada and had a Canadian PR, doesn't she? Sounds like a typical nouveau riche Chinese who parks their money outside of China while profiting off the common people.

A bit harsh? China has had a turbulent 100 years especially with property owners/rich , you would be crazy not to at least hedge a little especially in the early 2000s. Employing 200k workers and helping create China's tech ecosystem... I would give them a pass

The best solution was reached for all involved. Countries may have disagreements, but private citizens who have no control over these politicians' disputes should not be dragged into it.
Exactly, so why the innocent Meng was drag into this in the first place by the US and Canada?

Cut out the inflammatory language here - TUP

They rolled out a red carpet for her. She has gained fame from this. How she handles her future will be somewhat interesting but I still don't think she becomes a candidate for general secretary due to this how many years, decades from now.
Never in a bazillion years. For the CPC to make way for her into a leadership role all because she was used as an accessory to the China-U.S. trade war defies common sense and would make the CPC's much vaunted meritocratic system a joke.
