Yes I know what Xi thinks about the West. But that doesn't mean that he should just come out and say it openlyTo help you fully understand who Xi Jinping is, here is a true event. When he was on the back seat (vise president), during a visit, he said "有些西方人吃饱了撑的，对中国指手画脚", translated to "some westerners have a full belly, having nothing to do but attack China". What do you think of his true thought and intention with this attitude to the "some westerners"? You think he just changed his mind after being president like a teenager whose view of life is still shaping? He is only hiding his true mind when he is at the front seat under the lime light as all politicians and statesman do.
Even now China is NOT qualified (Chinese favourite word lol) to go against the entire West by itself (and some minor countries with it).
Xi should be aiming instead to drive a wedge between them which he failed to do even with 4 years of Trump.
IMO maybe in 7-10 years China can withstand West by itself, but definetely not now
Its not that I overly criticise him though. The broad strategy is alright, is just the execution which is lacking here and there.
Btw thats all for diplomacy. Economically he will probably be remembered just after Deng himself
