True, the economy size of the subcontinent of India was once the largest in the world, from the CE 1~1700, India was the number one economy in the world, being at the top had almost 28 percent of the world's economy (CE 1000), led along with China. In 1820, it shrank to around 16%. As the effects of the British colonization was getting more severe, its economy was becoming worse and worse.
Imperialism / Colonization sucked dry the victim nations -- massive wealth transfer from East to West!!!
