Can we confirm which fighters right now are being produced?

Obvious:

J-10C
J-16
J-20
J-15 (restarted production not long time ago, I think the production still continues)

----
Does the J-10S is still being procured?

J-16D ??
J-15D ??

J-10C, J-16, J-20 and J-15 are being produced

The production of J-10C will be quantified in the future to save resources for the J-16 and J-20.

The current J-16D program has stopped. There could be two reasons:

1. Government dedicates resources to project J-20
2. J-16D is a pilot project, with the purpose of accumulating technology and experience for the J-15D project

The J-15D is a naval version of the J-16, in production

His account got banned during the massive culling of military forums and weibos of April 2020.
I suspected as much already but do you mean 2020 or 2021 because I thought I accessed his weibo at least a couple times last year.

The D nomenclature is based on the Chinese character 电 (electric).... as in electronic warfare. PLAAF needs an electronic warfare aircraft and turned to SAC for a solution... much like how Boeing created the EA-18G Growler based on the Super Hornet, SAC used the experience and production lines used for the J-16 to create the J-16D.

Instead of being a multirole fighter (with strike interdiction being it's bread and butter) like the J-16, the J-16D will be a self-escort EW aircraft where it's mission is to jam enemy radar with it's EW avionics suite and EW pods lobbing off anti-radiation missiles. Having such a platform in the PLA's repertoire is essentially a force multiplier, and why the PLA have been tight-lipped about it's development and rollout for OpSec reasons. Based on Huitong's blog the J-16D is still in production... all be it the latest public footage of it was back in 2019.

Note the EW wingtip pods

I believe you are referring to the J-15S (S as in 双, meaning twin or tandem)... the J-15D is a naval version of the J-16D used for carrier operations. The J-15D currently is still in the evaluation phase with the PLANAF and AFAIK hasn't entered mass production yet.

The J-15D is a naval version of the J-16D (not the J-16), in production.

SDF cannot edit post after 10 minutes. So that's a misunderstanding

Pardon, but since most here don't speak or read Chinese you must add a translated summary and even more important is to provide a source!
Can be from anyone maybe even Minnie Chan / SCMP and or Kanwa.

Author and post time:
tác giả.jpg

Article Contents: The author explains why there is very little news about the J-16D project and its relationship with the J-15D project.

From the point of view of the author: Project J-16D has stopped, like the previous J-11D. And its technology was used to develop the J-15D
