You probably already know another ...ish. Goose-step started from Prussia, went to Russia continued by Soviets then China both the ex ROC and PRC (ROC dropped it after Americanization though). See a pattern? It is a general preference by cultures that appreciate martial, patriotic and disciplined spirit. I think you will see that kind similarity in many aspect even beyond military traditions.
