2014 World Cup Pictures: GO!

Great! Association Football is not a game of a single bravo. It's a team game! That's how Sir Alex Ferguson has led Manchester United though without many world class stars, yet, Man U was still one of the best football club in the world. Now, without Ferguson, Man U starts free falling. Sad...

Like my prediction (post #105), Brazil lost the game. Here is another prediction though the percentage of correctness is much lower, Argentina will win the cup. Let's see it tonight! (The game is played at 3:00am Monday time in Cambodia).

I have the whole family coming over for the game....... I hope we win too....

Don't be too tired for work on Monday:)

Brazil is again humiliated this time by Dutch (3-0). Their nightmare refuses to stop as they lost to a team whose coach considers third place match being pointless.

Few thoughts on the 3rd place match:

1) Brazilian defense was again terrible.
2) David Luiz sucked.
3) Oscar tried really hard, hate to see him not scoring any goal.
4) Robben should compete in 100m at summer Olympics.
5) David Luiz sucked.

I think the ref made some bad bad calls against them though, especially Oscar.

Ref was actually lenient on Brazil. The Dutch penalty kick at 2 mins was a pro Brazil decision. It should have been a freekick just outside the penalty area and a red card for Thiago Silva, as he committed an offence that denied Robben an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. If that had happened, Brazil would have to play almost the entire match with 10 men. In that case, Brazil could have conceited more goals than just 3 since their defense was already terrible to begin with.

First, congrats to Germany on your WC victory. Second, no shame to the Argentine team for they gotten this far and played a good game against a really tough team. And finally, thank you to Brazil for being such a great host nation for the event. It's fun to watch all the new and revised stadiums all around Brazil at cities that I've never heard of before till now. Up next, Russia's turn to host the 2018 WC.

Yeah it was a great game and I'm glad it did not require a shootout for a winner to be decided.

A little sad for Messi though. I think he deserves the honour of a world cup winners medal for being one o the best soccer players in the world of recent times He conducts himself well on and off the field and shames sportsmans of many codes, especially our rugby and league players.

Great win by Germany! Argentina put up a heck of a fight and had many opportunities to score, however. Sad to see how disappointed they were after Germany made the goal 5 minutes before they went into the "shoot-offs".

On the other hand I am very impressed with Germany's pass/score coordination. Almost as if they could communicate telepathically.
