I like Star Wars. I agree with TNEE in post #1918...it's a fantasy...I can watch it anytime I wish. I like ALL the movies even episodes one and two. Yep. I'd never knock any of them. I know how much work it takes to make a motion picture.

In fact tomorrow is my birthday I think I'll watch Rouge One and The Empire Strikes Back. ..yes I shall!

This is an excellent video...at 1:38 the timing is impeccable with the music and moves of Darth Vader.

Bob Iger, head of Disney, is blaming himself for expecting at least one Star Wars movie a year for why Star Wars fans are revolting. He thinks producers are not being given enough time. No, Marvel does at least two movies a year and no problems. It's thinking where if they just advertise Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame is on board the next Episode 9, it will save the franchise. Matt Smith was in Terminator Genysis. Did he save the franchise? Are we all little girls that just want to see our favorite wall poster stars in a movie? It's pretty simple to figure out what's wrong and no amount of time will fix that problem.

I don't see anything wrong with the Star Wars films other than they are premiering too close together. That takes the excitement out of waiting and waiting for the next film. But what do I know....I'm 65 years old. I just like them ALL. It's just entertainment.

Enywho..out of curiosity I checked to see how much $ the orginal Star Wars now known as A New Hope made in '77 & '78...well it made $775..million worldwide. That translates into $3,126,610,000 >> 2018 dollars. Yes..Three Billion dollars. Which my friends would make it the #1 box office movie of all time.

Check out the top money making films of all time. I can't believe Avatar is #1:eek:.. I did not like that movie at all.

First, Disney needs to walk away from the SJ ideology. Star Wars isn't the franchise for social commentary; that belongs to Star Trek. I agree that Disney needs to give writers and staff to flush out the storyline, have a memorable soundtracks (John Williams isn't going to live forever), and proper editing. Sorry Popeye, but The Last Jedi was an utter mess; getting that Star Trek 5 treatment. Second, Marvel have no problems because the storyline is already written. All it requires was adapting them for the Silver Screen.

Disney should recant their statement of ignoring the Star Wars Expand Universe, and should consult with Game Developers such as those that created the Knights of the Old Republic series. IMHO, Star Wars needs to walk away from the Skywalker Dynasty. I'm thinking, go back into the distant past, like the Hyperspace Wars or the beginnings of the Jedi / Sith Order. New characters, new storylines are needed to revive the Star Wars franchise.

No, Disney stabbed the Star War first with the whole new canon thing; then laced it with Nurgle flith (aka the whole Mary Sue + nothing new formula in the Episode 7 script), next came the chainsword deathblow (aka SJW contaminated script) that is Episode 8. Those Rat House (aka Disney) vermin don't care if the if the core fanbase are now feeling so dead inside because of such foul management that such a beloved franchise have to endure...or that they don't know it's not the kids but the adults that spend the most on Star Wars franchise, and it's those core fanbase that'll pass the baton to the next generation, but now they'd tell everyone to stay away from it instead?

Rogue One is the last of the Star War franchise movie that is done right, period. Hands down. Without question.

But the MCU has had movies bomb Thor 2 was a mess. Also other than the Avengers which is an ensemble series each one has it's own characters and line of plot.
Star wars has always been an Event movie franchises. The problem with one a year is we see Monday through Friday as opposed to that big big epic it becomes day to day. Which worked for Star Wars Rebels but not so much the movies.
I really didn't have a issue with The last Jedi it did what it was supposed to.

They know every MCU movie isn't going to be an Avengers movie. The amount of time to make one of these movies is irrelevant. The movies of the original trilogy were three years apart solely because it took a long time to do the special effects. Just because there's one Star Wars movie a year shown in theaters, it doesn't mean they can only work on one movie a year. The only thing in common are the people on the top. They make the decisions. Someone told Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrams to shut up when they were attacking the franchise's fan base. Bob Iger had to make a statement regardless how much Last Jedi made. They can read the tealeaves because they have the data. I thought a Han Solo movie was unnecessary because what kind of a story can you make off a scoundrel and a womanizer. I saw it and didn't have a problem with the Han Solo movie as a movie. He just wasn't Han Solo because they had to make him motivated by good intentions from the beginning and not as a selfish smuggler but at least it had a story. If people are so accepting of Force Awakens, they should've went to watch Han Solo but instead that one was considered a bomb. It's probably because there's a legitimate backlash from fans as a result of the Last Jedi and how producers handled the criticism. I don't buy that nonsense that Rian Johnson had 100% control of Last Jedi. That's unheard of given Disney's reputation. They kicked off the original directors of Solo when more than half the movie was already shot... Was it JJ Abrams that made the most popular movie of all time in Force Awakens or was it fans anticipating a Star Wars movie? People loved the TV show Lost when it first aired and in the end people hated the TV show Lost. So many extraordinary things were happening on that island and people believed there was going to be this great grand answer to why all of it was happening in the end. They got no answer. All it was is just to lure people to watch so that the ratings go up so they can make money from advertisers. They say Star Wars has made more money from endorsements deals than from people watching the movies itself. It certainly explains the lack of story in Disney's Star Wars trilogy. And if that's an indicator of the popularity of Star Wars, they're in trouble. Anybody know Hot Toys? They make a popular line of high end toys for adults based on popular characters in movies and TV. They only make a limited number from the start so they don't wait until the market is saturated and then stop production. They're still trying to get rid of their Force Awakens merchandise.
