Well, the "Honey Badger" and I are off to a Galaxy, far, far, away!

First I have to fuel the "Ignition Orange Speeder!", I hope we get through the sand people!

Well, I have to say I enjoyed the movie, a few little surprises, but entertaining, and we happened to run into our Pastor, his wife and another couple from church,,, so we had a good time, and good company...

I liked this movie more than the Force Awakens, even though it kinda socially "preachy", which was maybe a little more preachy, so for $16.00 bucks we bought two tickets to see the movie, and your first bag of popcorn and soda are included in the price of the ticket, so not to bad.

The new Star War Series never jelled for me because I felt the new characters are rather weak and I cant see any of them becoming iconic like sir alec guiness ,peter cushingl, liam neesons character, darth vader, no one can be badder than him, han solo. and luke skywalker.

I agree, the first movie is still my favorite, and we were all younger, and to be honest, I enjoyed the first movie almost as much as "Top-Gun"!

Episode VIII is set up for the final film. And than Disney will start all over with either the Han Solo prequel films and/or a whole sequel with different characters all together.

They're blaming the hate on The Last Jedi on bots...?

I went to watch the Last Jedi with mostly a bunch of people I didn't know. One of them bought the entire row of seats the day they went for sale and I was offered one. Everyone there basically lied to their bosses why they weren't at work on Friday. Afterwards we went to a pizzeria to discuss and we all hated it right off the bat.

I didn't see a difference from Force Awakens and Last Jedi and not for the stupid things mentioned in the videos on why one or both were hated. It was simply lazy filmmaking. These internet shows I'm suspecting more and more are filled with shills as many of the personalities work or have worked in the industry. If you watch the YouTube videos done by people doing it from their homes, they all hate the movie too. The Collider guys are especially guilty since they have shows dedicated to Star Wars news and spent the years before the movie's release speculating what's what and then Last Jedi comes out and everything they speculated turns out to be, not wrong, but literally a big nothing. They know it too and they're in denial and are in operation save a** mode. You don't need to watch their videos to see how Last Jedi was filled with nothing. The whole Finn and Rose arc was a giant egg. That served no purpose at all. What about when they got to the abandoned rebel base and the Walkers were coming? "DISCLAIMER: No Walkers were harmed during the making of this movie." All that build up to stop a big scary giant cannon that only created a hole big enough for a person to walk through. And all that was just setup for Luke Skywalker to be there just so he can walk through a hole that in the first place he didn't need to be made for him to walk through. If it was all about distraction, maybe Luke should've showed up a few minutes earlier so all the First Order's attention would be on him and not putting a human-size hole in the hangar door. Two hours and forty-five minutes for something that didn't really have a story and was just a situation and how they react to it.

I'll write more later on this.

Okay, I usually don't care about Star Wars, but this has me intrigued. What exactly happened in the latest movie that has SW fans so pissed off?

From what I'm reading is questions people were asking from the Force Awakens the answers turned out to be a big disappointment. Also how Luke Skywalker was not Luke Skywalker. I believe Mark Hamill has expressed that very sentiment but he's being a good soldier while promoting the movie. It's like they held hostage on everything a Star Wars fan loved about Star Wars and burned it in front of their eyes as a form of torture. Since JJ Abrams is executive producer, all I can be reminded of is reading an article where actor Lavar Burton tells a story about JJ Abrams at an in-studio Star Trek party hearing him say that he wanted people to only remember his Star Trek. The only way you can do that is to destroy everything fans hold dear about Star Trek and then rewrite the whole canon to make it your own. That's what seems to be happening.

Probably something in his contract that forbade him from speaking out until the theatrical run is over.

A good gauge of audience response is the box office drop off next weekend. If we see a 60%+ drop off then we know for a fact that it alienated a large segment of the movie going population.

During the production of Episode 8, there was a reported leak of the script. The haters of Force Awakens worried it would be a repeat of Empire Strikes Back. In it there would be a scene very similar to when Darth Vader told Luke, "I am your father" but in the leaked script somewhere Luke would tell Rey, "You're my father." Rey's origins was she was the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker which answers the question brought up in Force Awakens why she could already use the force and was skilled with a light sabre. There was a negative reaction to that leak. Later on there would be another leak which gave some credibility to the first because this time same idea but no longer was she the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker but of the First Jedi, a woman who emerged to balance out the rise of an evil dark side of the force long ago. Was it Kylo Ren reincarnated himself? Or was it Snoke who never died and the first Jedi returns to deal with her old nemesis? The leak never exposed that info or no one would find out until Episode 9. Hard to tell if the leak was true by how Last Jedi turned out. One thing was how Rey had seen before the force tree on the planet Luke was hiding out on. Writing that off as just a random vision was cheap. Was it actually because she was the one that wrote those books and was there long ago? Like I wrote before it seems to me a lot was edited in The Last Jedi because of Carrie Fisher's death. There were probably plots that involved Princess Leia that go into Episode 9 and now that Carrie Fisher is gone, they obviously can't continue with it. Instead of going through extensive reshoots because they had less than a year, they decided to literally force a resolution to most of the storylines they had planned and not be confined on how to work around it. Rey is suppose to teach the new generation of Jedis and lead the new rebellion when she's no longer the reincarnation of the First Jedi nor Anakin Skywalker?
