Ahem.. you guys do know that 40 years ago today the Original Star Wars film premiered. The film was simply called "Star Wars". The episode was called "A New Hope". At the time very few knew what that meant.

I was stationed in the Philippines at the time and we had no idea how popular this film wa until new shipmates being transferred in told us and what we read in the Stars and Stripes...yes those were primitive times..no internet or cell phones...nada..

Talking about comedies, GOTG 2 is one of the best comedies I've seen in recent years! Truly a very funny movie.
Seeing it soon. I loved the first one, though I remember reading the Star Lord comic back in the late 70s when I was a kid, and I have to say it's changed a LOT since then! It was a much more serious story back then, and it was a long time before he teamed up with the other Guardians as well. I also read the Adam Warlock stories, and keep hearing rumours he may make an appearance in the MCU. Hope they keep it close to the original though, very deep and philosophical back then. I don't think it would suit a comedy approach.

Personally I felt that Guardians 2 was a lot darker and more emotional than the first one. Not to spoil anything, but make sure that you stay till the very end of the credits. There are five mid/end credit scenes!
