Well we just have to wait and see what the WADA has to say. If it's true than, the US Olympic Committee has some explanation to do. Anyway, Russian hackers could just be doing this out of spite and revenge for their punishment from the Olympic Committee for drug cheating that causes their entire track and field team and Paralympics team of 2016 from competing.

And Chinese swimmer Sun Yang has a heart condition since childhood to which is why he was he was taking medication that was detected as a banned substance yet charged as a cheater during the Olympics. Is it true? Same can be said of others' exemptions. Drugs for attention deficit disorder does seem to coincidentally help for concentration in gymnastics.

I don't think he was charged but temporarily suspended and it was then revoked after his explanation. IMO I think its a rather tricky one because
In the first instance, a lot of people would find it hard to believe that a person with a heart condition would take up a strenuous sport like competitive swimming let alone being a World and Olympic champion.
Also Russian tennis player Sharapova copped a 1/2yr suspension for taking a banned substance despite claiming she had a childhood heart condition(which very few people in the West believed) and was being treated for it.

Us NZders should really make the most of it when our Rugby team is the best in the world, our B team is the second best and our C team the third best team in the world by a country mile.

During the Rio games he was charged by the competition as a cheater. I also read he was suspended by the authority in China and not any international body.

A hack of the World Anti-Doping Agency has drawn attention to commonly prescribed medications that are prohibited for use during the Olympics without a medical waiver.

Agency officials said Tuesday that they were hacked by Russian hackers and that multiple star athletes — including

Among those targeted was gold-medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles, who is

Simone Biles' ADHD Meds Among Common Drugs Banned From Olympics (ABC News)
While stimulants are a banned substance, medications used for ADHD may be allowed if an athlete gets a medical waiver. And although stimulants in people without ADHD can make them feel hyperactive or laser focused, the drugs help people with ADHD rein in their hyperactivity and diminishes distractibility. WADA officials no longer ask athletes to cease treatment for a competition because symptoms are best controlled with consistent daily usage.

Medical experts point out that the drug is one of many common over-the-counter and prescription drugs that athletes must either avoid or get a waiver to take.

Athletes have to be vigilant about any drug they take because the prohibited list includes not just performance-enhancing substances such as steroids and EPO (

), which can increase the amount of red blood cells in the body, but also certain diuretics,

medication and even some

medications, according to the World Anti-Doping Association.

"They have a banned list [World Anti-Doping Agency officials] put out," Dennis Cardone, an orthopedic surgeon and a

physician at NYU Langone Medical Center, said in an earlier interview. "Athletes ... it's their responsibility to make sure [their drugs are] not on the banned list."

Pseudoephedrine, commonly found in the cold and flu medication Sudafed, is banned on the day of competition. The drug is a stimulant and can make athletes more alert for a competition.

If an athlete is battling a cold or flu, the U.S. Anti-Doping Association advises athletes to stop taking the drugs a few days before they compete.

Albuterol, used to treat asthma, may not be used in conjunction with a diuretic without a medical waiver. The drug has been used by athletes to build muscle mass.

Where's all the cry of "Cheating or state sponsored cheating" from the US media? Some how the article just gives an explanation that one could find on the internet, instead of condemnation and sin. If it were Russsia or China they would list all of the social ills and the narrative would be more negative.o_O Now I understand Simone Biles has a medical condition (or so they said) such as ADHD and took medication for it, but what I don't get is she get a passed by the media while other athletes gets called out with other medical conditions with a doctor's waivers too.

I could be wrong but i don't think there's a definitive diagnostic test for ADHD — no blood analysis, no brain scan, so it's not easy to tell whether a child has the disorder. Some people say it's easy to blame ADHD for a persons behaviour than to look for another reason.
For all we know Simone Biles could be faking it.

Perhaps, but her mother was a drug addict that could have some effect on her brain development as a child, which therefore is not fault of her own. I'm just wondering why the media didn't even mentioned about Ms. Bile ADHD before and that she is taking medication for it even though it's a banned substance at the Olympics and yes she has a doctor's waiver.

She likely wouldn't need to be faking anything cus it's easy for the team coach to get a doctor to willingly give a false diagnosis so she could be on drugs. BUT I'm not saying that's what happened either. I say there should be no exemptions for banned medications at the professional level so there isn't any chance of cheating and so then it becomes truly fair. They banned these substances because they wanted to see the athlete's natural ability to perform. What sense does it make to allow these substances to enhance an athlete's competitiveness again only in cases where an athlete has a physiological weakness? You compete with your strengths and you have to compete with your flaws too! If 2 athletes are equally strong, flexible, and fast, but 1 has poor concentration (basically another term for ADD or ADHD), then that athlete is naturally less-suited for gymnastics and should not win. S/he shouldn't simply take a concentration-enhancing drug to compete against her rival (who's not allowed to take it); what's the difference between doing that and a weightlifter who's not as strong (let's give that a name, say hypo muscular contractivity deficit disorder or HMCDD) taking strength-enhancing drugs?
