Not a bad buy at all for Myanmar on the JF-17. Engine is pretty much the same as the Mig-29 for maintenance. JF-17 can use pretty much the same ordinance also.

I guess:

Bangladesh receives two refurbished Type 035 submarines from China

The Bangladesh Navy has taken delivery of two refurbished Type 035 (Ming)-class diesel-electric submarines (SSKs) from China, the Bangladesh defence ministry's inter-services public relations directorate (ISPRD) confirmed with IHS Jane's on 15 November.

The boats, which were previously in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) with pennant numbers 356 and 357, were handed over to Bangladesh Navy chief, Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, on 14 November at a shipyard in Dalian, China.

The SSKs have since been named Nabajatra, and Joyjatra respectively, said Taposhi Rabeya, a spokeswoman at the ISPRD, in response to questions from IHS Jane's . "The vessels are expected to arrive in Bangladesh either in January or February 2017", she added.

Citing a Dhaka-based news agency, IHS Jane's reported in December 2013 that Bangladesh has acquired the two submarines under a BTD16 billion (USD203 million) contract. The report also noted that Bangladesh is believed to be building a submarine base near Kutubdia Island in preparation for the submarine deliveries.

According to IHS Jane's fighting Ships, the 1,800-tonne Ming class features an overall length of 76 m, and overall beam of 7.6 m and a hull draught of 5.1 m. The platform has a top speed of 18 kt when dived, 15 kt when surfaced, and 10 kt while snorting.

The submarine features eight 533 mm tubes that can deploy the weapons such as the Yu-4 anti-surface heavyweight torpedo, and can carry up to 32 naval mines in lieu of torpedoes. Each boat can accommodate a crew of 57 including 10 officers.

Nabajatra and Joyjatra are scheduled to undergo a series of crew familiarisation exercises over the next few weeks, in preparation for their departures to Bangladesh in early 2017.

Bangladesh buys two submarines from China

Bangladesh took delivery on Monday of its first submarines, bought from China, as it seeks to boost its naval power in the Bay of Bengal.

Bangladesh paid a reported $203 million for the two submarines, a deal that reflects the country's growing economic and defence ties with Beijing.

Armed forces spokeswoman Taposhi Rabeya said they would become part of the country's naval fleet at the beginning of next year.

"This is the first ever addition of submarines in Bangladesh defence force," she told AFP.

Bangladesh has been expanding its defence capabilities in recent years, building a new airbase close to neighbouring Myanmar, opening several new military cantonments across the country and adding new frigates to its naval fleet.

In 2013 the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina signed a billion-dollar deal with Russia to buy fighter training jets, helicopters and anti-tank missiles.

Hasina announced the plan to purchase two submarines the same year as part of her government's move to build a modern navy to defend the resource-rich Bay of Bengal.

A UN tribunal has settled Bangladesh's long-standing maritime border disputes with neighbours Myanmar and India, paving the way for Dhaka to invite bids from multinational firms to explore for oil in the Bay.

Bangladesh officials say that has ensured the country's sovereignty over 111,631 square kilometres (43,100 square miles) of sea, an area nearly equal to its landmass.

Xi Jinping last month became the first Chinese president in 30 years to visit Bangladesh, which has historically been more closely allied to rival regional power India.

First Yak-130 jet trainer for Myanmar makes maiden flight

The first Yak-130 advanced jet trainers for Myanmar Air Force completed its maiden flight.
According to the RIA Novosti, Russia plans to deliver three fighter jets to Myanmar by the end of 2016. The Defense Ministry of Myanmar signed its first Yak-130 purchase contract in June 2015, three years after the Southeast Asian republic voiced initial interest in the fighter trainer, the outlet says.
The Yak-130 combat trainer was selected as the winner of the trainer competition of the Voyenno Vozdushnyye Sily, Russian Federation Air Force, in April 2002. The aircraft is also actively marketed for export by Yakovlev, the Irkut company, and by Rosoboronexport.
A joint programme for trainer development between Yakovlev of Russia and Aermacchi of Italy began in 1993 and the Yak / AEM-130D demonstrator first flew in 1996. In 1999, the partnership was dissolved and the Yakovlev Yak-130 and the Aermacchi M346 became separate programmes.

on Monday took delivery of two Ming class submarines, bought from China, as it seeks to boost its naval power in the Bay of Bengal.

Bangladesh navy chief Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed received the submarines during a ceremony at Liao Nan Shipyard in Liaoning province`s Dalian city, according to an Inter Services Public Relation Directorate release, the Dhaka Tribune reported.

The type 035G class submarines will become part of the country`s naval fleet at the beginning of next year. The submarines will be named BNS Nabajatra and BNS Joyjatra respectively.
Bangladesh is reported to have paid over $203 million for the two submarines.

Bangladesh had ordered the two boats from China in 2013. The Bangladesh Navy was originally keen on buying S 20 and Type 039 Song class submarine, which costs $250 million per boat, but decided on the Ming class submarines due to budget limitation.

The Ming class submarine is developed from Russian Romeo Class submarine of the `50s which has been extensively modified by the Chinese. The Romeo Class boat in turn was based on the German Type XXI submarine of World War II.50s which has been extensively modified by the Chinese. The Romeo Class boat in turn was based on the German Type XXI submarine of World War II.

These diesel-electric submarines displace 2,110 tons and have a surfaced endurance of 8,000 nm allowing them to stay at sea for about 60 days. They are manned by a crew of 57 personnel and carry 18 torpedoes with an option for carrying 32 mines also, according to reports.

In all likelihood, Chinese crew, though in a small number, could be present on these submarines to guide the Bangladesh crew through the initial stages of operations.

The Chinese are also likely to be involved in setting up the shore infrastructure like repair yards, training facilities and operational support establishments for smooth conduct of submarine operations.
