Hmmm ?? Looks IMO more like the Zhuhai airshow model.
I could well be, given how small it is.
I wonder if they simply repurposed one of the J-20 demonstrators for RCS testing.
This report suggests that SAC & CAC might be working together on a next-generation fighter - possibly a FC-31 derivative.
Make of it what you will.
Link to the news.
More specifically, the cooperation between the 601st institute (Shenyang) and the 611th institute (Chengdu). Since the institutes are closely associated to yet independent from the factories, it is not clear what degree of involvement SAC has.
Any idea what's the source and how reliable it is?
Upps ... did not see the link.
delete after rethinking.
I wise man my friend! wish I would have done that a few times! LOL
So gentlemen? is it possible that the FC-31 could still move forward? I hate to admit it, but I'm a little disappointed, I haven't given up hope, but my former confidence is waning.....
By all accounts it seem to me that we will eventually see a Type 31 airframe - probably a navalized version given the issues with the J-15. If the program gets state sponsorship I doubt there will be an export version. The difficulty will be getting there and will not be easy building one as China's experience is limited to a reverse engineered J-15.
