Is that a guess from you or do you actually know a reliable source? If you're right, lucky guess? If you're wrong, thanks for nothing?

3rd V3.0 Prototype of J31 navalised version coming in 2018

You heard it here first thank me later

I heard it from you many times, but I highly doubt that you are drawing from authoritative evidence or rumors. As mentioned before, pb19980515 claimed that the naval J-XY prototype is still in the physical manufacturing stage and might flight in late 2019 or early-mid 2020.

It's a no brainier PLAN would have chosen the J31 because it has no choice!
I said that a few years back already!
Since J20 officially in service already 2 yrs and how many they got? Less than 20!
That number is just atrocious.F35 already in the 300s range.
CAC seriously choking on the production level. It will take a few yes just to satisfy PLAF alone. Now all the countries getting F35. PLAN is in hot seat now. They getting desperate, they have no time to wait for navalized J20.

Even Japan, with its license production of F35 will soon have more number of F35 than China's J20. Also keep in mind China has to compete with US and it's allies. So, relying only on J20 alone is nonsustainable even if given 10 more yrs. Hedging on other source ,like j31 makes sense. A stealth fighter is better no stealth fighter. Beggars can't be choosers.

Japan license built F35 meaning most of the equipment are from US all Japan did is assembled Sure if you have someone behind your back and assist you, you can do that .China has to struggle by herself and has to built everything down to the bolt by herself. So it is not even a comparison.

Beside Japanese industry as a whole is more advances than China Japan built 10 Carrier before the WWII What did china built in WWII?

China's industrial might is on a head to head with America. It has to not only achieve parity with America, in terms of industrial capacity and capability. But also surpass America, since China would not only have to edge America, it also has to outstrip America's allies. This is a known reality and China knows it. Not only does China need to accomplish the industrial edge, it also will require it's own allies to pick up the pace.

And it is the allies department which needs attention on the foreign policy front. Central Asian republics and Pakistan need to step up their efforts in increasing their economic strength. Iran seriously needs to get its act together and outsmart the Trump trap. When there is a pool of stable and strong allies. Their industrial strength will provide an enormous boost to the Sino-Russian alliance. Which is why, it is important to focus on BRI for all parties involved.

China should also seek ways to make Vietnam a major partner! Additionally, they should seek to displace the US/NATO axis in Afghanistan!
