All RD-93 engines generate black smoke.
J31 version 2 recent test fly spotted smokeless. WS13E has been installed.

Saudi has pumped in $1billion down payment for J31 development as it wants J31 license production line like installed unmanned plane production line.

Words are coming out EU might look into J31 also as it barking at F35 outrageous price. Japan paid $500 mil for each F35A.

For each F35A versus 7 J31 (equivalent price) who's going to win?? I bet my money on J31.

J31 only asking for $70mil each, saving tons of money

IMO pure wishful thinking as long it is not confirmed. ... sounded much like one of these funny rumours off the PDF. :p

Name any European country that already indicated its interest?

At best Turkey is looking at the FC-31 but given their political attitude I'm sure they will demand project-lead and full ToT before any commitment, so IMO unlikely at best and most likely a fan-boy's wet dream.

日本向けの4機は、”LRIP-8”「少量初期生産ロット８」として生産中のF-35A 29機に含まれる。他にF-35Bが10機、F-35Cが4機作られるので、ロット８の生産数は43機になり、その単価はエンジンを除き9,800万ドルとなっている。

P&W社はF135エンジンの単価を公表していないが、外紙によるとロット８では1,650万ドルと推測している。したがって１機当たり価格は1億1,450万ドルとなる。

F-35は、ロッキード・マーチンが主体となり、それにノースロップ・グラマン、プラット＆ホイットニー、BAEシステムスが主協力企業となって開発した「統合攻撃戦闘機(JSF=Joint Strike Fighter)」である。

the price is not that, its cost should be easy to read or at least grasp if you read Japanese characters, well i can read a bit of Japanese. the price is close to 115 million per unit.

I guess the J-31 will be cheaper, maybe 70 or 60 million, but upon PPP dollars it will be very expensive even by Chinese standards, and the question will be will it be as good or better than F-35?
