Self Propelled Gun/Rocket Launcher

That's because the emphasis of that parade was advanced and new.

MLRS will do a lot of the grunt work in a war, but they are not sexy or exciting like new MBTs, fighter jets, AShBMs, cruise missiles or drones etc.

Not advanced and new? Are china´s MRLS rusty? some say (no ideia at that) that they have the most powerful MRLS systems in the world. And what do understand by "sexy or exciting" ? is a criteria for inclusion in a parade?

I honestly have no idea what you are trying to get at with this nit picking.

They didn't include them in the parade, so what?

Seems to me that you have been caught writing non-sense and want now to back away from that.

Nope, I stand by what I said. I just think you are trying to build up to something with these irrelevant questions and wish you would just get to the point already.

"Sexy or exciting" translates to "visually appealing". And yes, that is a criteria for inclusion in a parade. A 'parade' is synonymous to "showing off flashy stuff to make a statement", so non-flashy stuff, like MRLS, will not be in a parade.

Compared to the newer weapons systems which were shown, yes, the MRLS could be considered older and less exciting.
As I said in my previous post as well, this parade was lighter on AFVs as well. The military can't send in a unit of every single weapons system they have to the parade, it would be unnecessary, especially when previous systems may have already been displayed at previous parades. And rocket artillery systems were already shown in 2009.

Stop trying to draw awkward conclusions from premises which don't exist.

Norinco FireDragon 140A 300mm guided rockets in action... The launchers may not look sexy, but you can't deny it packs a long-range and precise wallop. Available for exports...
