    To all my SDF Brethren in TEXAS particularly Houston and Austin... PLEASE muster in to let us know you are OK.

    In case anyone did not know there has been severe flooding in Houston and Austin TX.

    MASSIVE FLOODING ALL ACROSS HOUSTON

    Rain hammers Houston as deadly storm moves east

    I declare ...

    Psalm 91 New Living Translation (NLT)

    1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
    will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
    2 This I declare about the Lord:
    He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
    he is my God, and I trust him.
    3 For he will rescue you from every trap
    and protect you from deadly disease.
    4 He will cover you with his feathers.
    He will shelter you with his wings.
    His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
    5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies in the day.
    6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
    nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
    7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
    though ten thousand are dying around you,
    these evils will not touch you.
    8 Just open your eyes,
    and see how the wicked are punished.
    9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
    if you make the Most High your shelter,
    10 no evil will conquer you;
    no plague will come near your home.
    11 For he will order his angels
    to protect you wherever you go.
    12 They will hold you up with their hands
    so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
    13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
    you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
    14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
    I will protect those who trust in my name.
    15 When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them.
    16 I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation.”

    We have been experiencing unusual amount of rain this year. It has been almost unstop raining since March. We got tennis ball-sized hail about a month ago. The storm that we got last night was bad. I was driving on the Beltway to get to work this morning. The traffic was unusually light, probably because most people decided to stay home. I was able to maintain 80-90 mph all the way to downtown :p:cool:. However, I couldn't exit the highway because many exits have been flooded :(:confused:. Some places near downtown and the Texas Medical Center, like Shephard, were 13 feet under water. The Brays bayou, which runs alongside S./N. Braeswood blvd and is about 4-5-stories deep (no idea exactly how deep it is) and is usually empty, is filled up to the rim :eek::oops:. Fortunately, I was able to circle around and find my way to the TMC. I saw many cars stranded though...

    I got off from work today because of the floods down in the Heights Area and I-10 freeway.

    Thank you my friend. But it looks like right now the worse is over. Still cloudy but no rain so far in my part of town.

    Like Equation said, Thanks you guys so much for thinking about us! We appreciate it so much! It's getting cloudier again... Maybe more rain coming in... A student of mine was trapped near a flooded parking lot for 4 hours. She was not in any danger, but all the cars stuck in that one small space, all trying to get out... A huge mess. And she saw two guys canoeing down the street leisurely...
