, this is the frigate’s final test before joining the Russian Navy.

These are powerful frigates. The second, the Admiral Kasatonov, has also been launched and is outfitting.

The Russians desperately need 12-16 of these to replace the older Sovremenny and Udaloy destroyers.

"We plan to modernize the aircraft and provide it with more weapons," Borisov was quoted by the press office of the Ministry of Defence said.

The military said that the Su-34 "enjoys high demand in the Army (* Air Force) and has an excellent future."
In 2008 the Russian Ministry of Defense ordered 32 Su-34 fighter-bombers and in 2012 ordered 92 more planes.

So the Russian Aerospace Force would receive 124 of these planes by 2020.

"The aviation plant in Novosibirsk should assemble 14 aircraft Su-34 a year, but works to plan ahead and order is likely to be completed before the deadline," said Deputy Defense Minister.

In late September 2015, Russia launched at the request of an air offensive Damascus in Syria to stop the advance of terrorists Daesh (or Islamic State, outlawed in Russia).

The operation lasted five and a half months, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, helped stop the supply of arms and ammunition to the radical, closing the main oil traffic channels and eliminate thousands of jihadists.

I hope these photos are appropriate for this thread. ALL countries should honor their Veterans.

Russian veterans attend a memorial ceremony to mark the 71st anniversary of the Victory in the World Anti-Fascist War in front of a monument in Changchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province, Sept. 1, 2016. The Russian delegation of 40 veterans attended the ceremony to pay respect to former Soviet soldiers who died during the war of resistance against Japanese aggression in northeast China. The monument bears the names of 23 former Soviet soldiers written in Russian. (Photo: China News Service/Zhang Yao)
