1st, the single US destroyer is not meant to challenge the Russians. Even without adding the shore based anti-ship missiles, the Russian Black Sea fleet could easily handle a single US destroyer...or two or three.

If the US Sailed two destroyers in there, and NATO came along with 4-6 surface combatant vessels to assist them, then you might worry about a confrontation. As it is, the US entry is purely symbolic.

This should not lead to any military confrontation at all...not saying it could not if someone became hot headed and did something follish.

But, without a serious mistake, Russia has presented the world with a fait accompli as far as Crimea is concerned, and the US and NATO are not at all likely to fight to try and get it back. They will bluster, and may try some economic sanctions...but Russia is capable of significant economic actions of her own, particularly aimed at Europe and their energy needs, which should forestall any serious economic impact to Russia.

At least that is my opinion of it at the present time.

A few weeks back AF-Brat commented on a series of photos showing Russian Crimea occupation troops pointing there weapons at Ukrainian Air force personal who wanted to get to there base. In the photos not only were the Russians aiming there weapons they also had trigger fingers on the trigger. A big no no in the west. I pointed out that there is a different mindset in Russia regarding such things. And if ever there was proof of that watch this video.

Points of interest, the Host is Larry Vickers a retired American Delta force operator and combat trainer. He is the real deal.
Alfa is FSB's elite counterterrorism unit, basicly Larry is among peers. Elite troops.
the pistols' seen are not Glocks they are Arsinal Strike One a Bulgarian made striker fired hand gun that utilizes a unique barrel system. Its the top hand gun in Russian military service the choice of Russian Elites.
although not for the faint of heart no gore or extreme violence is shown in this video. I am using the link form as I am on my cellphone.

There is or at one time was a Russian Program to develop a light fifth gen fighter Called the Mig LMFS

That said this does not look like a real aircraft this is a Fan CG or a Game concept. look at the identification of aircraft Mig 415 "FireFly"
Firefly sounds like a old NATO assigned reporting name, but the last Reporting name was assigned in 2000
Mig is the name of the Maker, but 415 is way out of sequence the next in sequence should be Mig 37

The design bureau might well use a very different designation from the air force designation. Remember the old Tu-95 that had the air force designation Tu-20. So the identification isn't an argument. The fact that it looks like fan art is to me pretty convincing.
