Russian Military News, Reports, Data, etc.

Reminds me of the Israeli army boasting half a century ago about the considerable number of field officers being killed in combat.
in Russian Internet people are wondering what are the real numbers of Russians KIA in Syria recently, during their ongoing Deir-ezz-Zor adventure (it'd be unlikely if they were only the two high-echelon about whom I posted) and the current ISIL counter-offensive ... not a popular topic huh

Long and excellent post for S-400

Second S-400 battery in Syria

It is the English magazine Jane's Defense Weekly which announced on September 29 the presence of a second battery of S-400 on Syrian soil. This announcement made on the basis of satellite photo finally confirms this presence already announced but never verified.
The military deployment of the Russian army in Syria was accompanied by a gradual but steady strengthening of the A2 / AD prohibition capabilities deployed by the Russian army to enable it to carry out its flight operations under cover of ground-based systems.
...
As mentioned earlier, the capabilities of the system largely depend on the missiles used. Let's review them:

40N6: a long-range missile capable of reaching targets up to 400 km and with the main purpose of hitting high-value targets such as strategic bombers, flying tanks, radar planes and reconnaissance aircraft.
48N6DM / E3: missile capable of reaching targets up to 250 Km
48N6E2: missile capable of reaching targets up to 200 Km (used by the S-300 as well)
9M96E: missile capable of reaching targets up to 40 Km
9M96E2: missile capable of reaching targets up to 120 Km
The missiles in question have different types of guidance and maximum and minimum altitude of commitment but the question will not be addressed in this subject.

Yes very pretty,, but rather hard angular lines,, and those horizontal stabs look like the old North American F-100,,, no real "blending" to soften the RCS,, but no doubt it is a very pretty airplane...

looks menacing enough though!!

Ships with VLS where everything is hidden look very peaceful almost disapointing :D
