The other side is foreign countries sponsoring non-Daesh "militants/rebels" which sponsoring is still in violation of the Westphalian and United Nations rules. Russia and Syria have still the moral high ground in saying there needs to be a political solution and not the destruction of the country as happened in Libya.

OH MY GOSH! Master Delft, what R U smoking boy??? President Assad and the Russians have never and will never hold the MORAL HIGH GROUND??? maybe among the liberal elites,,,, remember the little green men in Crimea??? yeah, you guys covered that "STUFF" up with flowers and sunshine thanks to a friendly co-conspirator! LOL

So you would give that medal to Al Qaeda? The US sponsored "rebels" never amounted to a row of beans.

the phrase is a "hill of beans", as beans are "hilled" when planting,,, no, I give Al Qaeda credit for exemplifying "religious extremism" at its worst, killing the most innocent possible victims...... but they would prolly have to share that with Assad's regime.

why do you think Europe has been overrun with Syrian Refugee's???

and they've been assisted by "little green men" and Russia's best of the worst???

Off topic I know, but dress it up any way you want AFB - it cannot be denied that the US are basing and operating in Syria illegally (in contravention of international law). In layman's terms what the the coalition has done could be construed as a de facto act of war against a sovereign country. And before you ask, I fully appreciate that the Russian annexation of the Ukraine is legally questionable, but at least - even if the figures quoted for the majority were inflated - it would have been supported by at least 60% of the population.(ethnic Russians). I would suggest that there is little if any popular support for the US presence in Syria, other than from the primarily Islamist (how ironic is that?) opposition (rebel) groups.

The world is a complex world sir and few if anythings are ever simply black and white.

saying recently a whole Regiment has been formed (actually re-formed) specializing in maskirovka etc.)

when fitted with the correct radar and IR signature generating devices these are very effective decoys. I believe (though I concede that I could be wrong) that western militaries also employ similar decoys though not necessarily SAM systems.
