Don't want to post it in Su-35 thread, let it be here:

the customer will go with the PD-14 option instead of the Pratt & Whitney option?
It gives way to competitive government and military versions, though.

For example, as a base for ASW, AEW&C, Recon, Tanker and many other craft. When you aren't under US umbrella, you have needs for wide array of such planes, which require suitable platform with reliable support&updates through service life, and preferably such platform won't be dropped by producer in the middle.

So, while ironic - China may end at some point with them, until viable local high-bypass solution will appear.
It isn't necessary(local chinese producers by now have all necessary aircraft sizes, even if not exactly best possible variants), but it gives fine alternative for quality:risk ratio.

Russian ‘spy-submarine’ Podmoskovye back in service after 18-year refit

The Russian Navy has received a new Delta IV ballistic missile submarine ‘Podmoskovye’ after the boat spent 18 years undergoing refit and modernization at the Zvezdochka shipyard.

The Project 667BDRM Delfin-class (NATO classification: Delta IV) submarine had its missile compartment removed and is now capable of deploying “mini-submarines” with the aim of counteracting U.S. and NATO intelligence efforts.

Repair and modernization work on the submarine was completed in October 2016 and the spy submarine spent the following two months undergoing sea trials.

Russia began the development of Delta IV submarines began in 1975. They were designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering.

The first Delfin submarine was launched in January 1985 and introduced into the Northern fleet in December 1985.

The video below, shared on YouTube by the shipbuilder, shows the Podmoskovye as it leaves the shipyard for sea trials.
