Confirmed ;)
With Pr 22350, Gorshkov class.

from what I figured, that's a direct consequence of the Ukraine Crisis -- diesels got stuck in Germany, gas turbines in Ukraine itself:

guys in the discussion under the link I gave in my preceding posts were talking about the unavailability of engines for the ships #4, #5 and #6 of the Project 11356 (the names according to wiki:

Admiral Istomin
Admiral Kornilov
until (at least) 2020 -- even if domestic engines were ready, Project 22350 would have higher priority ...

According to military experts, the most likely option arrangement cannon "Boomerang" will be like the tank "Armata": a fully automated uninhabited turret. It is likely that the tank sighting systems and means of active protection will be unified with the main battle tank.

Different assumptions about the gun are made, but most likely, it will be carried out on the option 2A75, which is used in the 2S25 "Sprut-SD '. Thanks to that, the "Boomerang-Tank" firepower will be equal to the T-90A, which in principle, will be sufficient to meet the requirements of the combat missions for combined arms teams

Russia, Brazil discuss joint production of armored police cars

I7BpzOA.jpg

Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said on Monday it was holding talks with Brazil on setting up a joint venture for manufacturing light-armor police vehicles.

The GAZ-2330 Tigr vehicle, manufactured by Russia's Arzamas machinery plant (AMZ), will be exhibited at Latin America Aero and Defense (LAAD) on April 12-15 in Rio de Janeiro.

"Construction of licensed production and assembly facilities, manufacturing certain armored and motor vehicles and small arms, is evolving into one of the crucial lines of military technical cooperation between Russia and Latin American countries," Rosoboronexport said in a statement.

The Russian exposition at LAAD-2011 is sponsored by the Russian Technologies State Corporation, and the Russian delegation is headed by

Russia, the world's second largest arms exporter after the United States, sold $8.6 billion worth of weaponry last year.

Rosoboronexport has established mutually beneficial arms trade ties with Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay, and Ecuador through active marketing efforts. These countries express their interest in Russian air defense systems, radars, combat aircraft and helicopters, naval equipment, and small arms.

Irst comprehensive program for drones manufacturing created in Russia — official

"This is the first program that comprehensively and systemically plans for the development of the drones manufacturing industry in Russia" UIMC Deputy CEO said

MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. The first-ever program for developing the unmanned aircraft industry has been developed in Russia for the coordination of the corresponding activities under the 2016-2025 state program for armaments, a senior official of the United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation (UIMC is an affiliate of Rostec), which took part in the work on the document, has told TASS.

"This is the first program that comprehensively and systemically plans for the development of the drones manufacturing industry in Russia. For the first time ever it reconciles the requirements of military and law enforcement agencies for drones, the state program for armaments and the industrial measures crucial to implementing the federal agencies’ plans," UIMC Deputy CEO, Sergey Skokov is quoted by the corporation’s press-service as saying.

Skokov said the program was authored jointly by experts representing the federal bodies of executive power, research organizations and arms manufacturers, with the Vega concern playing the key role.

"The program is now undergoing coordination with the Industry and Trade Ministry. When agreed with the federal bodies of executive power concerned and approved, it will be used in forming and implementing state program for armaments and for the development of the industrial-development complex," the corporation’s official said.

According to earlier reports, the 2016-2025 state program for armaments is to be adopted in December. The current 20-trillion-rouble ($0.4 trillion) program is extended over a period of 2011-2020. Eighty percent of the funds will be spent on the acquisition of high-tech armaments. Strategic nuclear forces, space means and also communication and reconnaissance equipment are the current program’s highest priorities. The Defence Ministry said the next program will put the emphasis on smart weapons.

Most people think that the Armata is a terrific new platform. Obviously very good value.
Certainly as good as foreign analogues. Probably better than them.

It’s interesting to note the foreign media spin on it all. America claims that the move is towards lighter, maneuverable vehicles and

, airstrikes robotics etc etc.

So I wonder where state of the art tanks will fit into the military doctrines of the next 10/20 yrs in different fighting environments.

Obviously stage one would be drone reconnaissance and long range missile strikes. Followed by shorter range missiles and air superiority. Next would come artillery shelling etc. At some point of this there would be undercover airborne special force deployments. Later on, there might be Airborne troop deployment.

But I wonder where Armata tank deployment might come in.
The concern is that anti tank missiles might be used by single enemy ground troops who are hard to detect, and could potentially take out an expensive tank with several troops in.

The tank itself might have a range of 7000 meters? Yet be vulnerable to a single enemy hidden in rubble, just 100m away. Obviously Chechnya 1 was a horror film for tanks.
Doubtless Armata is vastly better than those tanks.

My post is not meant as a criticism of Armata battle tanks, far from it. As I believe it to be truly cutting edge. I'm just wondering where it fits in vs enemy troops, tanks, choppers etc.

Obviously the answer would differ on who the enemy was. For instance a conflict in the Mideast, a European War, in Asia etc etc.

Do I understand correctly that when there is an explosion of the ammunition below the gun it will be more easily vented upwards because there is no heavy lid in the form of a turret in the way? And that that will improve the chances of the crew to survive?

BTW I'm late at this discussion because I went to Berlin last week.
