Hopefully you got enough Christmas presents to compensate for the lack of a feast.

For those of you following my brother Jim's battle with Pancreatic Cancer, his chemo didn't shrink his tumor, prompting a chemo change, the insurance company did not get it approved in time for last weeks chemo treatment! the Upside is that I was able to go down for a few days and take the grand tour, and Jim was feeling so well today that he took Eli his Grandson out on Kentucky Lake in the Triton for a little fishing therapy, yes it was cold, but Jim is a die-hard bass man, 6 very nice Smallmouth, 2 Big Largemouth, 2 Spotted Bass, and 2 Crappie, the guy is a Small Mouth guru, they were prolly 3 to 5 pound on the smallies, each one had two our three shad in its mouth, so the fishing ought to be great on Kentucky for the first time in about 3 years...

The Smallies and Largemouth are always catch and release, larger bass may be a little tough, though in my poor days, I did fish for food.. I'm not sure about the spots, but lots of folks eat crappie, they have a firm white flesh when taken out of cold water...

I've done some ice fishing, and those bluegill are outstanding when taken out of very clean, clear, cold winter water... the flesh is firm and white, and they fry beautifully and have an awesome taste, kind of like Walleye, which are also a very tasty cold water breed...

I imagine he threw them all back, he's a sport fisherman, and if you do practice catch and release, those bass grow a lot each year, they eat a bunch....

So, is that good? bad?, I thought you were a little thin to start, I lost some weight this fall, and wifey didn't like it, so I've picked 10lbs back up, I drive for a living like you, and I had to get a couple of seat cushions... that was miserable... I'm back to around 185 with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and NO bicycle riding,,, I can't wait for it to warm up and get back out on the bike...

So, here's hoping you're back on solid food,,, fish ands chips??? I love good fish and chips, steak and baked potato, rice, what sounds good to you!

Oh I've been on solid food for a few weeks now, but small quantities. My stomach has very little volume now and won't stretch either. One mouthful too many and it gets painful! I'm not complaining though, my insulin intake is down by 75%! Hopefully I'll come off it altogether over the next few months, then I can get my truck licence back (The UK is the only country in the world to ban insulin injecting Diabetics from vocational driving, for no justifiable reason). Saw my surgeon this morning for a six week check up and he's very pleased with my progress.

Wow, I'm very proud of you my friend, I can only imagine how heartbroken I would be if I had to give up my transportation duties,,, but the way, insulin would prevent me from maintaining my CDL,,, its really not medically sound reasoning.... but the do-gooders are always trying to save us from ourselves??

any way, I hope you are able to enjoy eating again, and I'll be praying you are restored to "full health" and back to pushing that Lori again... is that the correct term, anyway hope you are back to muscling that heavy iron around, Obi Wan... a Jedi must have his X-Wing!
