...here's some pics of those aircraft set on the deck of my 1/350 scale Ronald Reagan:

Now, they are just there to give folks a "feel". They will all be sitting on my new CVN-80, USS Enterprise. I will be ordering another 1/350 scale USS Nimitz and then rebuilding it over into a Ford Class...in this case the 3rd one planned, the USS Enterprise, CVN-80, which they have already cut first steel for.

I get yet ready :)

I heard on the radio that Auckland Airport was a shambles last night. A thousand passengers had to be deboarded as someone realized the body scanner was not plugged in.
(A worker had unplugged it for his vacuum cleaner and forgot to plug it back in!.......say what?) Does the task make the person who monitors the scanner so brain dead he does not realize its not switched on?)

Hi All
In case anyone of wondering (or indeed hoping) if I had disappeared for good, then no,not really.
It is simply that I bought a new house earlier this year and it is a "bit of a project" which; in addition to keeping the business afloat wot pays for it all, has rather monopolised my time ever since and is likely to do so for long periods for the forseeable.
Not even had time to tickle the Ivories!
Oh well - Hey Ho!

For those interested...I am proceeding with my build of the CVN-80 USS Enterprise, converting the Nimitz Trumpeter model into the Ford class.

I am making good headway on the aft end where a lot of the major work is. The island is another area.

The deck in this picture is not glued down because I have not detailed the hanger yet and put the lighting in there...which will take several weeks of work...but I am making progress on the big aft end of the lady.

In addition, though I do not have the decals and US Navy marking on the aircraft yet, I have completed the airwing, and here's how that is going to look on the deck once I get it all put together:

CVN80-022.jpg

It's going to be a mix of 5th and 6th gen aircraft representing a mid to late-2030s airwing.

I will be getting a 3-D print of the Island soon and then detailing that from there...but while I wait, I will be starting on the hanger and making it look a lot like the Ronald Reagan hanger I did before.

Great job Jeff! Just curious on the last picture, what is that yellow piggy bank doing on the ground?

LOL! That's a toy for our dog.

she's a Black Lab/German short Hair Pointer mix and she has several such toys she [plays with.

If I do not pay enough attention to her, she brings a toy in to tell me its time to go out and throw them so she can catch them and bring them to me.

I am really enjoying putting the USS Enterprise together...but its a tough build because I am having to reate so much of it to be a Ford instead of a Nimitz.

I wish they had come out with a 1/350 FOrd model...but they haven't yet. I do not have the time to wait because of the cancer, so I decided if I want to do one, I'd better just do it myself.

One day though, Trumpeter or Merit, or Revell or one of those companies will come out with one.

I was wondering about not getting any musical updates, but like you, I am painting/updating our present house in order to sell, and pulling up old carpet, floor tiles etc to move as my Mother in Law has left her house to my wife..

I'm no carpenter/plumber but wifey has lots of ambitious projects for the AFB, as we attempt to bring our 1957 model brick ranch into the new century, LOL.. to the point of "painting" the beautiful old "knotty pine" cabinets and living room wall,, (yes it is heart breaking),, but the "Honey Badger" is "stylish",, so I'm occupied with my "honey do's" for the next year or so? who knows??

anyway,,, I've been busy and would have pinged you, I do try to check on my friends, but thanks for a heads-up

oh and about the "Honey Badger",,, yes, she's a lot of woman for one man to manage,, but I'm fortunate indeed,,, and she's more "Honey" than "Badger",,,,, but, I do not intentionally antagonize my lovely wifey,, she's a nice girl, better than I deserve, a lot better! but God is Good!
