Yes they were proud that I served. If my dad was still here on Earth he'd be 105 years old this Sunday. And my mom passed away in 2011.. she would have been 97.

=========================================================

Right now we are watching three of are grand kids. They all have on their pajamas..at 6:25 CDST. they have to go to bed at 8pm.... enywho I've not worn PJs since 1971.. the year I joined the US Navy.
that's funny shipmate and awesome photo of your grandpa!
Also kudos to the folks who digitize these old photographs otherwise you never would've known.

I keep telling myself I need to digitize all my photos as well.. just too lazy and cheap to do it!

I just noticed that I got more likes than my posts!!! Hehehe, guess people like me?! Yay!:p:D

We not only like you Bub, we love and respect you, for your kindness, intellect, and your honesty! I liked your post as well, hope your having a great day, I feel healthier just know that you're doing your research, yes I will take my statin drug later today, but I did eat some pork,,, but I'll let the dog? "chew the fat" so to speak?

Check out my post in the what the Heck thread, I'm prolly not going to make many friends, but I did post some relevant aspects of aviation law, the FAA has volumes and volumes of rules and laws pertaining to the operation of every aircraft, on every flight, it is quite detailed and tedious.

I won't expect you to like it, just read it, hopefully you will find it relevant and logical?? I'm sure I'll catch plenty of "wisdom from the other side??"

Thanks buddy! I never expected to be respected on a military forum... Very honored!

I just downed a juicy hamburger. I try to eat healthy but still need my "comfort food fix" every once in a while...

I will check out your post on aviation law and let you know what I think.

and real life being what it is, the "Honey Badger" has commanded that the house be painted, so I'm spending my spring break scraping, washing with a pressure washer, priming and attempting to paint my "old shed", she's nearly a hundred years old, parts may be older, and two stories?? I'm debating hiring someone to do the high altitude work, I'm a lot older than the last time I undertook this project!

I know most folks are done with wood siding, but hey, I'm archaic too!

Is your BMI over 25? What is your favorite American food?

You mean "Big Man Indicator"?? yeah we are all over 100% on that here bruda, we all "big men"!

I have been riding my bike a little, rode it to the store to buy me a steak, but the wind was blowing and blew my New York Strip into my "bladed spokes" cut that poor little sucker in 3 pieces, the largest of which was wedged into my Dura Ace Front caliper,,, I pulled that sucker out, and did CPR on all three pieces and broght it home in my hip pocket!

I gave it a good bath, dried it off and onto the griddle it went,,,, looked like it had been run the the cuber, a big maching that kinda mangled your flank steak to make it semi-edible!

Nah. I'm 5' 9" and 144 Ibs. So my BMI is about 22. I'm actually quite fit. Although I don't have a 6-pack, my abs is flat and, on a good day, I can squeeze out a "2-pack", maybe a "3-pack". :p:p

My favorite food is steak. A 12 oz ribeye cooked to medium rare with some blue cheese would be my dream dinner. I also enjoy lamb chop. Fajitas with flank steak is also one of my favorites. I also cook a mean oven roasted pork belly with crispy skin (chicharrone style). I've actually converted a vegetarian with this dish :cool::cool:

With that said, I mostly eat chicken and veggies. I hate veggies. But if I eat enough veggies, I get to cook and eat actually delicious food on weekends without feeling guilty

Your diet is really Americanised. I like Mexican, though I don't eat them often. My favorite American food is the cardinal apple pie. I eat lots of chicken and vegetables. Vegetables are what healthify Chinese food. Savory Chinese dishes tend to be sweetened with sugar.

Forgot to mention Texas BBQ! Beef brisket is heavenly!

I ate mostly Chinese food at home before I left home for college. My mom is a bad cook (shhh, don't tell her I said that...). She always worries her meat is not cooked enough. So she always over cooks meat. :(:confused: So I never developed much love for Chinese food/cooking because of it.

I started cooking a little in college when I got tired of cafeteria food. And I found that I was actually pretty talented... at this point, most of the food that I was familiar with and I liked were the kinds that you would find in a college cafeteria. So naturally, those would be the kinds of food that I wanted to learn how to cook.

I really got into cooking when I got married. I was amazed that my wife was and still is an even worse cook than my mom. All she knew and knows is to boil a pot of water, dump stuff in it and cook them to mush. So I pick up the cooking part and she does the dishes. This is actually an ideal arrangement because I hate doing dishes. When I lived by myself before I got married, I constantly had to buy new pots and pans because I had to throw away many dirty pans. I simply left them in the sink for days because I hate doing dishes. And in many cases, weird alien stuff started to grow in those pans. So I had to throw them away... now I don't ever have to do dishes again ;)

The more I cook, the more interested I am of cooking. Now food network is one of my favorite channels. I follow "Chopped" religiously. I actually quite often imagine myself competing on Chopped one day :p:D:rolleyes:
