Yes, neither I or my wife would approve of hanging around the red light district:eek:

Actually they were great tourist attractions when i visited Rotterdam, however I thought Rotterdams city fathers were going to close the Red Light District.
Anyway youchange your mind you will have a second chance if you visit Hamburg while you are in Northern Germany.

Cngrats on the B-Day and the present POpeye!

I am pushing 61 yrs now and hope to make my 63rd. The cancer situation does not look like it will let me at this point.

But that's okay...I have put it all in my Father in Heaven and Savior's Hand and know that their plan for me...however many years it encompasses...is what is best.

Anyhow, happy B-Day and have fun with that huge monitor!
Happy 61st when it comes and I pray there will be many more.

I visited the one in Rotterdam and Hamburg (as a tourist) and found the USN very well represented. My impression was the Rotterdam was nicer with the Hamburg one was a little seedier

When Clark and Subic were still open, sailors, jarheads and flyboys likely outnumber everyone else both tourists and locals alike in the whorehouses but that was before my time.

Anyway BACK to topic!

No real houses of ill repute in Angeles City(Clark) or Olongopo City(Subic/Cubi.)...just bars with "Hostesses"....plenty of sailors, Marines and Airmen back in the day...

Ever see "Apocalypse Now"(1979)? Part of that movies was filmed in both Olongopo and Angeles City. The entire movie was filmed in the Republic of the Philippines.

Here in Cedar Rapids we are under a Flood watch. Fear not popeye does not live anywhere near the flood zone nor was I in 2008. Back in June of 2008 we had what was called the 500 year flood. There was not a single life lost despite the fact that 25% of the city was inundate with flood waters.

This time the city is much better prepared and the flooding will be significant but not as extensive in 2008.

Here are some pictures of my recent vacation with Mrs. Mirage to Holland And Germany. Returned on September 30th total of 9 days. I will just post a few. If anyone wants to see more let me know.

First Day, Mrs. Mirage and I having a late lunch in a café in the City of Haarlem (about 20km outside Amsterdam). No, I did not see any of the Globetrotters there. Mrs. Mirage is very tired, just finished a 16 flight with one stop for change of aircraft.
