My 63rd birthday is next Saturday. My wife has purchased me a 32 inch Vizio Tv to use as my desktop monitor. It is awesome.:)
Cngrats on the B-Day and the present POpeye!

I am pushing 61 yrs now and hope to make my 63rd. The cancer situation does not look like it will let me at this point.

But that's okay...I have put it all in my Father in Heaven and Savior's Hand and know that their plan for me...however many years it encompasses...is what is best.

Anyhow, happy B-Day and have fun with that huge monitor!

Congratulations!

I don't live there but did visited Netherlands a few years back. I can offer a few amateur suggestions. If you want to visit Keukenhof you will need to check their web site for status. I timed my visit to see the tulips in bloom.

Most tourists will go to Amsterdam. IMO they have good museums to see works of old Dutch masters, such as the night watch by Rembrandt. However I did not like the tourist crowed there. Hotels are expensive (or have tiny rooms) and quality of people around red light district not so good.

I also visited Rotterdam and few other places, but I liked Almelo in east Netherlands the best. People there are very friendly, it's a beautiful city where hotel rooms are cheaper and bigger. If you prefer slower paced vacation in nice relaxing place, I highly recommend it. Time your stay for weekend outdoor markets. Don't be surprised if strangers chat with you. Watch out for elderly folks with poor vision in electric wheelchair/scooters and guys who had too many beers on bicycles.

Bring sufficient change in coins for the train ticket machines. Breakfast at hotels can be impressive and puts US hotels to shame. Hope you have lots of fun!

Thank you for the information. We are leaving tomorrow around noon and will stay 4 days in Holland and 6 in Northern Germany. Cannot wait.

I find this hilarious. I don't think you will find the kind saintly types of tourists in any red light districts in any city.
I visited the one in Rotterdam and Hamburg (as a tourist) and found the USN very well represented. My impression was the Rotterdam was nicer with the Hamburg one was a little seedier
