Well, we are getting our first measurable snow this morning.

We had 31 degrees and snow, and it has covered the ground wih an inch or two.

Slush on the roads.

It will all melt by noon...but it is a start and we can use the moisture that will stay in the mountains.

Lots of rain and wind here today, that began a day or so ago, I drove the team bus to an away game in another county, got to cross the Illinois river on the Ferry, in the dark rainy weather, I actually love this stuff.

Helps that Dan and I were able to fly his Cessna up to Canton on Saturday here in beautiful Central Obamastan and fly the lovely little 1946 Ercoupe, not sure what Dan thought about it, though I did give him a little scare with an impromptu "wing over", he wanted to know what my bank angle was?? prolly just 80 to 90 degrees, it flys very well for a 65 horse classic?? though this one is likely making around 90 horses, the ailerons are quite energetic, and that fat little high lift wing are fun, even with Fred Wickes little safety plane, this one does have rudder pedals, so it flys much better than the ones with aileron/rudder interconnect.

I must confess by butt is not quite calibrated to the Ercoupe, as the ball spent a lot of time outside the turn coordinators center, right rudder feel messed up by a single "SMALL" brake pedal right below the rudder pedal, that made smooth rudder deflection a real challenge. The landings and take-offs where smooth, especially once I decided to keep the nose gear off the ground by judicious aft stick on roll out as I shot touch and goes.

Dan is a great brother, and did honestly describe my last landing of the evening in his Horton STOL equipped Cessna as absolute "perfection", kinda nice to have my flying mojo back up to speed, as some may recall I botched a difficult crosswind landing this past spring, as I just had a moment where I wasn't even in the game, just an embarrassed passenger as a big gust took over, but I did recover and made a nasty looking floppy landing??? took a while to get my "stuff" back together. LOL

I'm was outside talking with someone at work when the temp drop occurred. It's kind of freaky. I was standing there, sweating because of the warm temp and humidity. Then a little breeze blew by. And the temp dropped literally instantaneously by about 15-20 deg. I mean I was sweating in one moment and shivering in a blink of an eye. I can almost imagine this cold front moving like a wall coming over and blew over me...

First time experiencing a cold front like that. Usually you come outside and find out it's cold!!

Oh yea..it is 1C or 34F right now with the temperature dropping. And by Saturday our low is expected to be -15C or 5F. Just a tad nippy!

Oopps! I made a boo boo.. you guys posted that weather on Tuesday.. right now in H-town it is 72F or 22C.. ..you guys must be livin' right or sumpthin'!

Hahaha. This is the nicest time in Houston! Perfect weather today! but its getting cold this weekend, mid 30's by tomorrow night. Then going back up to 60-70's next week.

To be honest, we only have about 2-3 weeks of perfect weather out of the entire year, we will lose the chance if we don't brag about it soon...

True, but at least we would not have to worry about shoveling snow out of our driveway just to get to work.;)
