Real life thread

So yea we were on another forum talking about J-20 when suddenly we started going off-topic about our personal lives. I kinda opened this thread for a change because after a whole day of hardcore military discussions and talks about muscles and hard power, I think it's not a bad idea to switch the tempo around for something more chillaxing and less uptight. We can be disagreeing with one another over J-20s and Liaoning, but we can still enjoy a decent chat about more lively stuffs right..or can we?

Anyways this thread is supposed to be relaxing and entertaining...so please lay off politics and just take a chill pill. If you find this thread retarded or thinking "why the hell should I share my life with you guys? I don't even know you", you can still poke fun and joke and whatever. After all this thread is supposed to be a relaxing place, so let's just have fun shall we.

Just to start this thread off, I remember telling you guys about my intentions to ask my Korean date to be my girlfriend. Result was: I went to a nearby florist location to buy a dozen roses. Was deciding hard which colors to get, and the lady advised pink, as red = love and she felt I shouldn't scare her off. I checked online and realized pink roses meant something else, so I went back to my judgement and picked red 'cause I remembered that's her favorite color. We then realized the roses would whither and die after an hour of no water, so we left it in the sink and I was supposed to go back and pick up the roses later. I also wrote a little card for her asking her to be my gf and stick it in the roses. After class I went to grab them flowers and snuck them into my backpack before my date shows up. We went to her place and she cooked for me. She kept asking me to eat first, although I waited for her all the way until she's ready. And after a night of kimchi and red Korean food, it's time. I plugged on a special playlist of romantic songs that I handpicked last night on my iPhone and then asked her to close her eyes while I went to grab the flowers and bring them over. When she opened her eyes, she was so happy and shocked, I felt so happy seeing her that way. Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth with her hand as she took the roses to her and said how beautiful they were. Turned out the roses were also the first time she ever received flowers from anyone. She then noticed the card and said she wanted to open it instantly, and of course things were going great. But that's not all. Next step I pulled out a ring that I made with aluminum during grade 8 metalworking class, and told her I had always saved it for who I hoped would be the future one. Anyways needless to say, I asked her to be my gf and she said yes. She was so happy and hugged me. That night she told her best friend about it and her friend was so happy and envious of her the same time. I gave her an extra surprise later on that night: she woke up to find me finishing her dishes. She was so shocked and asked why I was doing all those, and I told her she cooked for the entire day and must be tired. Some time this week she told me she was so happy to have gotten to known me; "you're like my angel."

Now the only regrets I had was not having filmed the entire event.

If anyone thinks or say I'm doing too much for just a girlfriend, my only words would be, "When you feel you've met the right one, then that means she's the only one. You only have one, so you better cherish. Your soul-mate ain't your tool to demonstrate your ego; instead she should be where you can truly reveal your true self, and her to truly appreciate who you are. This is why truthful relationship with one another through good communications, and even doing small little things, even if it seemed a bit too much, is actually what shows the other person you truly care and appreciate them."

Anyways aside from this cheesy love stuff, we can be talking about other things. I'll show you guys my Tamiya 1/48 F-15C and Hasegawa 1/48 F-22A in a few days.

I also think a real life thread might be interesting. See and hear what SDFers really got going on in their life shenanigans, will be a nice break from all this military discussion.

Re: Real life thread...anyone?

You guys have real lives!!? dang! I just thought you were all site generated bots provided for my entertainment.

Do I want to talk about real life? I dunno, its what I come here to get away from and able to do so increasingly infrequently. Its a relaxation where I can sit down in my Admiral Nelson costume and read the screen through my telescope against my eye patch while dodging seriously heavy verbal ordinance from Mrs Sampan who thinks I should have better things to do with my time.

LOL, wait until you get married, and then she's gonna be like: "Go wash the dishes. NOW!!".

Anyway, I'm glad it worked out well for you. :)

Thanks man. In fact I've been washing her dishes for her lately lol. I stayed with her for 3 days and because she's very stressed about a lot of things, I decided to relieve her by helping her on some chores. And the funniest thing of all us, both her and I shared a passion for salad, so we sort of decided to start eating salads as our meal from now on. (and partially because she wanted me to help her get fit lol.) And of course this means future washing would be much easier since dishes are less greasy. And since she doesn't cook often, I won't be surprised if I had to cook for her in the future too.

And after I get married, if she tries to pull one off the first thing I do is pretend I was sleeping on the sofa..or "gtg washroom" ;)
