full NBC gear. With a thing as big as a ship, a small puncture in the hall would not render the ship inoperatable, but it would endanger unprotected crew.

100% Correct. Nuclear Bilogical Chemical warfare gear. In case of a WMD attack the suits offer some protection. The suits are very uncomfortable. But well worth wearing.

so do they wear it all the time or only during time of crisis (or trainning)? looks kinda thick, does it make you heat up? and is it made out of cloth?

you wear it when you have to. Which is to say when you have reasons to believe unconventional weapons would be used. This training probably simulates such a contingency.

I do not believe what their wearing to be NBC gear, as their eyes are uncovered.

I believe it to be anti-flash clothing similar to what the Royal Navy wear, to protect against the heat flash from explosions and fire. This was introduced as a result from the burns and melted clothing sailors encountered during the Falklands War of 1982.

Good point Yimmy...I di not notice that before. When you wear NBC gear your eyes must be covered because NBC angets will enter your body through the eyes and of course damage your eyes...

But it does resemble NBC gear.
