The idea of certain full squads having QTS-11 doesn't mean that the entire military has to shift service rifles.

Well if the PLA have a OCIW weapon that is based on anything other than the QBZ-03 I did like to see it. Because their current iteration of the system means using any bullpup type rifle for the basis is highly unfeasible.

Having the rest of the military use mostly QBZ-95s has no bearing on whether QTS-11 may be issued to certain entire squads.

(Of course this discussion is probably going to be moot soon because there are strong indications that a new service rifle will be introduced with a conventional arrangement but we can ignore it for now.)

So the pray tell, what kind of "certain entire squads" are we talking about, their role in the PLA combat structure, and what is the level of feasibility that this could happen ?
Because this is not the first time I have seen certain concepts being shouted down on this forum because of feasibility, only for the other side to bring it up again.
If that is the line of thinking, than another military concepts should be treat as credible just because "it may happen".

QBZ-X we have a thread on a perspective new rifle down the pipe.
QBZ95 was designed in the late 80s early 90s it’s a fair system but not easily adapted to more modern views of accessories.
There have been retrofitted systems but they basically are either a patch on fix or a total rebuild.
They tried to patch issues with the QBZ95-1 but in the process they realized that the gen 0 round was lacking so they retooled it to the round they had been using for the Type 88 rifle and LMG.
But again this seems to have been a patch. And it means questioning the function of Specialized GPMG Type 88 and DMR Type 88.

Along the way the PLA started work on there OICW which I would compare more to the K11. But based off the QBZ03.
Well they seem to have chosen to issue those to some units purely.
From this has it seems to have spun off the QBZ-xx the new rifle well looking into more modern trends. Modular system with modern trends for optics.

Photos of training and evaluations of the QST-11 have shown a majority of the squad issued them. These may be specialized as Scouts, Fire support, Ranger like elements meant to serve as combat fire brigades.

Let's take a step back and look at what the original post said.

As we can see, the original post did not write anything that was particularly outrageous -- merely asking if a volley of grenades could be fired if hypothetically an entire squad was equipped with QTS-11.

No one said anything about what kind of force structure such a squad might have operationally, or what sort of units such squads might be deployed in, let alone the feasibility of such a squad in real world conflicts. (I do have my own ideas wrt those questions, however they are immaterial to the question that ohan asked)

So you're really going down the wrong route of discussion here, because he's merely asking how such a squad might use its weapons.

And for the record, the pictures posted by by78 in #385 shows two 7 man squads equipped all with QTS-11 as primary firearms. Of course, we don't know what kind of unit they are in or whether it was for some kind of trial purpose or whatever, however those pictures very much provide a legitimate foundation for the question that ohan_qwe asked.

Yeah, right as compared to your obsessive picture posting, or do you need someone else to pick up your fights to help you raise your two hands for you since you can't seem to make a reasonable response without resorting to childish insults.

So we are changing the goal posts now are we, by moving the argument away from the feasibility of entire squads being equipped with QTS-11 to how an entire squad equipped with QTS-11 might use them and in what fashion ?
Because those are 2 very different things, and if that is the gist of your contentment then it should be clear from the start.

I think the best you could have inferred from my posting habits would be that I'm not a voluable member of the forum, so that I have less opportunities to speak glibly.

Speaking for myself, I know what I don't know (most of the time) and speak when I have something to add. If I don't know something, I don't pretend that I know, and I would ask for answers. I'm way past the age when I'm in love with my own voice and would risk making a fool of myself.
