Fighting in littoral waters close to shore and under heavy air cover. In other words, cheap missile launchers.

This is an article on 022, haven't had time to read it yet, but the title said that its hull design and motor are top notch, very stealthy, very good maneuverability and very good attack/penetration capability. And probably the most interesting part is the part that says it is over 100 million Yuan (which is 14 million USD) to build. From the way they phrased it, I would guess not much over. I think we can safely put the unit cost to 15 million.

haven't heard any official interest. I would also think that China would not export direct copies of 022 to anyone because they wouldn't want anyone to know the signature of this ship. They probably will do what they did with the Iranians, where they exported those smaller FACs.

I don't think PN has a need for Type 022 as it's gearing towards the Turkish MRTP-33, a similar type of FAC.

These ships are just like the tanks on the sea. They are quite technologically advanced.
