Yeah I totally forgot that the J-10 and Su-27 use the same engine.. But surely using the same engine doesn't qualify it as a single engined flanker still?
-Same engine
-IRST
-Anything else anyone can think of?

Oh and what's the comparison between the F-16E and J-10B supposed to show?

Yeah I know it's kind of confusing but this plane ( aka J-10B) is something of a mismatch take pieces of the original J-10 incorporate pieces of the Su-27, the JF-17 and the nose of a F-16E.

I wonder what it's real name????

why do i feel this is gonna be another JF-17/FC-1 thread debate?

Su-27 and J-10 are completly different. Only thing even remotely simular is the engine it uses. A single engine Su-27, sounds kind of....yeah well anyway both are in different weight class, wing design, tail design, foward canards, air intake.

Its about the J10 engine stall in mid flight and the pilot gliding the aircraft to safety.
Not sure if i got it right as my chinese is not very good.

3月7日下午,李峰驾驶歼10战机在4500米高空实施高难课目动作时,屏幕突然出现告警,他意识到飞机随时会出现发动机空中停车,失去动力。「我这时候立即改变坡度,上升高度,这时候距机场大概是54公里。」李峰说。

李峰快速检查飞机发动机工作状况,控制速度,立即请求返场。在距离机场7公里的时候,飞机发动机停车,并以每秒25米的速度下坠,情况十分危急。

「航迹底下有一个师范学校,还有一个部队营区在这个地方,」李峰说,「如果当时跳伞的话,飞机接地后爆炸,可能引起更大的伤害。」

他调整好飞机姿态,借助惯性,空滑转弯对准机场跑道。落地的飞机液压系统动力急剧下降,减速伞无法放出,李峰凭借娴熟的技术全力稳住飞机,飞机在跑道上滑行1400米后,终于停了下来

Ummm well the IRST is probably further developed from the J-11B (if the IRST on that is indigenous), and the DSI is just completely original. The similarity of the noses may be because of the speculated AESA in the J-10B...
But all the similarities are mostly interchangable pieces of technology.

mid air engine stall,F-16A also encounter similiar problem.

A question unrelated to the J-10 stalling and such;
Will previous J-10's be upgraded to the B standard (if the B standard isn't PSed).
On sinodefence it says later J-10's may be the B standard. (I've also noticed the speculated AESA "vent" has been called an ECM antennae. Out of interest, who actually edits Sinodefence? And why is sinodefence so confirmed? Like it never goes that extra step of speculation. Anyway getting off topic..:eek:ff):
I mean, is it hard to change the previous variable geo intakes to DSI, or whatever changes has been made to the J-10B from the J-10?
Bit of a badly phrased question, I know.

There is now a sinodefence page for the J-10B now with the photos we've all seen before posted in the article. Nothing new from what we've all discussed already but something worth mentioning.

Appears to be the J-10 regiment at the south of China, probably 2nd Division.
