Biden Administration Set to Further Tighten Chipmaking Exports to China. The government has briefed US companies about the plan, telling them that it expects to announce the new restrictions as early as next month, according to people familiar with the situation. The rules may as much as double the number of machines that require special licenses for export, creating fresh hurdles for makers of the equipment such as Applied Materials Inc.

Bro the news for me is an indication that we may see the official unveiling of SSA800 in all its glory. ;)

We all know that the front end Lithography is China Achilles heel and the US doesn't produce any and China had an American counterpart in every IC sector thou not as good but can be improved. So is China afraid? Look whose panicking and in their anxiety they kill their own kind...lol

Actually brother ansy1968, call me stubborn, but I still believe the US Government versus Huawei 5G war is more important. But I still like this chip war, because that has a built in automatic troll job.

Every time there is some sort of announcement, the US is trolled into making new threats of more bans.

This time, apparently more bans are coming, that I suspect is not even related to semiconductors, but to the Middle East peace deal brokered by China for Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Realistically, if the Americans are trolled this easily, they should announce what machines SMEE has available or imminent for full scale production and integration into production lines.

If the Biden people cannot restrain themselves, then there is no point in holding back.

Your Bloomberg article says number of machines blacklisted will double once including Netherland/Japan restrictions (which hasn't been concluded).
About 17 of the multimillion-dollar machines that are vital for making semiconductors currently require licenses, most notably if Chinese customers are trying to buy them. That number is set to double when including restrictions imposed by Tokyo and The Hague, according to the people.
So this is nothing new!! Bloomberg is recycling old news and making it appear like there is progress, when there isn't.

Can we place a restriction on all Bloomberg articles as a source? Also delete the last few pages of useless bickering.

I wouldn't say we need to put a lid of them, but people who frequent this thread should be more wary about posting bloomberg or scmp sources since they are typical crap. So please remember that @escobar

Bloomberg has lost all credibility when they tried to pass what appeared to be a diode or resistor as a Chinese spy chip. I know because I had to solder the bloody thing in my undergrad days for an embedded systems course. Prof told me that those were the ugliest soldering he had ever seen in his life.

Spy chip that looks like a diode? Brilliant!
