Harbin Engineering University has professors from all around the world including the USA. Some of the professors have been threatened by their own government and branded as traitors for selling trade secrets to China ! ...LoL

What to expect in the upcoming 60th anniversary parade

EDIT: Oops, I just found out a similar thread has already been created. So will a moderator please move this one to the older one. Thanks.

This time they would probably include:
New uniforms
JH-7A aircraft
Su-30 aircraft
J-10 aircraft
J-11B aircraft
FC-1 aircraft
KJ-2000 aircraft
DF-31A ballistic missile
Latest variants of Type96 and Type99 tanks.
Latest variants of J-8II aircraft

This time they probably would NOT include:
H-8 aircraft (rumored stealth bomber, we don't even know if the project exist)
JL-2 ballistic missile (probably still undergoing tests)
J-XX aircraft (next generation fighter, either not built yet or undergoing early tests)
Z-10 helicopter (prabably still under going tests)

What else might they include or not include?

Opened a thread since the 60th Anniversary for CCP control of China since 1949, is coming up next year. In 1999 China showcased its newest military hardware and some prototypes for possible future equipment. Examples such as the Type 98 MBT showcased in the parade which soon after evolved to the Type 99. Their prized small fleet of flankers back then, and some ICBM showcase. And also their newest small arms seen being carried by the troops T-95.

Also discussion from the new developments and acquirements from 1999 till present. :china:

This thread is to discuss what possible weapons will be showcased next year to celebrate 60th Anniversary of CCP.

My list of most propable showcases: :coffee:
* Larger numbers of troops with T-95
* Type 99
* Chinese derivative of Humvee
* J-10

J-10 has been already revealed in 2008. I wonder if they will show it again
For the rest it is evident

BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- China's top military command has sent down an instruction to troops of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) selected for an unprecedented dress parade on National Day later this year.

The parade, to be held on Oct. 1 to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, will involve more arms and weapons than all previous parades, said the instruction issued by the Central Military Commission on Tuesday.

The instruction said that the parade, to be the highest level of its kind, will showcase the PLA's first-class organization, weapons systems, training results and "spiritual outlook."

With less than eight months left for preparation and training, which is a shorter interval than previous parades, the Central Military Commission urged the chosen troops to "fully understand the historical and realistic significance" of the dress parade to be viewed by Hu Jintao, chairman of the Central Military Commission.

According to an announcement made by the Ministry of Defense on Jan. 20, the parade would be a "warm but frugal and cost-effective" show of China's most sophisticated weapon systems.

Preparations will include rigorous training for a synchronized march along Chang'an Avenue -- the main east-west thoroughfare in Beijing -- and across Tian'anmen Square, a prominent symbol from which late Chairman Mao Zedong declared the founding of the PRC on Oct. 1, 1949.

The instruction revealed that the troops will be selected from among the PLA's seven military commands, all services, military universities and forces under the central military authority.

Although it did not release further details about the troops or the equipment to be shown, the instruction confirmed that the parade will involve units with heroic traditions as well as units and individuals that have fulfilled significant military tasks.

The parade will showcase new weapons of the Navy, Air Force and the Second Artillery Corps, it said.

To demonstrate the integrity of China's armed forces, the parade will introduce formations consisting of weapon systems used by the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, the instruction said.

The instruction said the parade will promote national pride and self-confidence amid economic hard times.

"As the international financial crisis is still spreading and there are still some critical problems in the domestic economy as well as many uncertainties in international society, holding such a parade will significantly increase the people's national pride and self-confidence," it said.

well the 60th aniversary is more important to the chinese military then the Zhuai airshow so if it showed an appearance in zhuai last year, it will most certainly make an appearance in parade.
