The reserve issue was based off IDF retired generals and leadership setting up a IDF style reserve system the was to be in place, I also did say they would never take Gori, YES i was wrong but the *** did not fight there for whatever reason. However my intel on landings at Ponti and the move our of abkaz and forces moving were correct. Plus we still dont know how many the *** has mobilized.

On the subject - i would really like to know where did utelore get all of his info. It sounds biased, and didn't appear in any news i saw. I remember a rule on this forum which required proper info source to backup your claims, i am not sure if there is one now, but he didn't provide a source anyway, even being asked to. I think some people just do not want to accept that Russian military has changed since Chechnya, at least it's tactics.

agree, even if the Russia didn't change their tactics the Russian would still able to overwhelm the Georgian with numbers. The only defendable positions in Georgia are in the hands of Russia, it's hard to defend a huge army without good mountain positions. As for the militia claims, I served in the Canadian army for 5 years, many of my colleagues do not get full loaded. We just grab whatever useful, rifle, shotguns, knife, tin cans, coms, that's all we grab, just like those Russian troops in the pictures. We hate helmets and vests. Those Russian soldiers shown on those pictures are veterns, you can tell from the look on their face. So they are not militia.

Those pictures depict largely Chechen GRU troops, you would normally expect them to wear and carry anything they want. Anything that feels more comfortable and useful. By the way, according to Russian officials there have been only two companies of Chechen spetsnaz, so i do not believe "Chechens have defeated Geirgians" argument.

I get info from contacts and friends. my info was no worse but in some cases better than what was coming out of the media. There is plenty of cases were guys come up with off the wall info based on things I have no idea about on this board. BUT, every thing I post was in good faith trying to give good info before the media. Soooo, sense many of the posters do not like even a hint that the russian military may be poor or doing poorly or acting poorly and then you questin my integraty I will not post.....enjoy russian news media reports.

I have read one confirmation of a Russian commander that there is still some sniper enemies in South Ossetia taking action.

So, i don´t understand why Russia signed the truce deal if there is still Georgian fighters in operation.
Maybe Russia will use this as an excuse to keep controlling Georgian territory?

I really don´t undertand what is happening in the ground right now?

There are any new peaces of Info, Utelore?

Then explain how did they win if they are doing poorly.

It's ridiculous, you say if appearance could reflect one's professionalism. They don't look that bad by the way. Equipment? Russians have Russian equipment, Georgians western. There's nothing more to say here. To say what else do i think of this fact would to shift this discussion into politics.
The only large difference i noticed was the fact that georgians were largely depicted before balle, showing their bravado, while Russians have already seen dust and gunpowder.

By the way, some of the pictures named wrong - sides confused.

First off I realize the Russians routed the Georgians with overwhelmimg force.

Are you calling my comments ridiclous? In case you did not know I served in the US Navy for 20 years. I would like to know have you ever served in any armed force of any nation?

A professional appearence usally results in a superior professional performance. It's called taking pride in ones country, service & self.

I don't beleive you. What was your unit and where were you assigned?? Do not claim to be someone you are not. If I am incorrect I apoligize.

I know men(US) that served and operated with CF in Afghanistan..And I have posted many photos of CF they ,for the most part, remain in full ACUs..They do not operate as you described.

I may be wrong but I think they're trying to point out that "professional" does not mean "effective" and that you can be effective without having the appearance of professional, which is true.
