Re: Georgia Attacks South Ossetia, War With Russia Looms

I don't care either the USA is a heroic lion or a sick cat, I don't even care who's right or wrong. But please, this thread has been the hottest topic of our forum. Do not try to compare who vs who, this might cause to country blasting, political debate and finally lead to thread closure. Thank you!

Re: Georgia Attacks South Ossetia, War With Russia Looms

These events show that the US is impotent and is really a paper Tiger. The West have been trying to gain a Geo-political advantage in every corners of the World. Few examples are

a) In Darfur, the French and Israeli armed the African rebels to secede from Sudan in the "Oil rich region" but when the Arab militias attacked, they blamed China for arming Sudan and therefore abetting Darfur genocide.
b) In Afghanistan, the US created the Mujahideen Frankenstein to fight the Soviets and what they get is Al Queda, Jihadis and Talibans in their own backyard.
c) In Iraq, the US intend to rape Iraq of the Oil riches but now they get a bloody nose from Sunni/Al Queda and the Shites/Irani elements.
d) In Georgia, the West and Israeli made use of the Georgian puppets to challenged Russian interests and gain the strategic oil access from Central Asia. The West disregard the Russian interests in Serbia and carved out Kosovo independence. Now the Ossetian and Akhazians want independence, the West hypocritically said Russia must respect Georgian territorial integrity.

What's wrong with paper tiger? I would prefer paper tiger than real tiger.

I do want a world war three. Peace forever...!!!

Re: Georgia Attacks South Ossetia, War With Russia Looms

The T-62's and BMP-1/MTLB are Abkaz and N/S ossetian forces. The BMD-1 are Chechen special tactile battalions. Many of the tank/apc colums are semi/professional chechens/abkaz/ossetians driving around Georgia looking for loot. Apparently the Georgians make a very comfortable toilet seat and is under great demand in Chechnya.

A quote from a Chechen stated" burning a Georgians home keeps his whole unit warm at night. They say they absolutely love this country with all the Beef cows walking around they have steak every night.

The abkaz, ossestian and Chechen's want to move on tbilisi as soon as they can. They just want the Russians to fly air support. They have 3,000 of these types of troops that are very heavily armed and motivated.

My buds are telling me the Russians are not very good at all in the operational art. They are simply running roads like "Mad Max" and if they come on some Georgian fighters they call in SU-25. Apprantly russian PGM have done horrid and most aircraft are firing large 140mm-200mm rockets and cluster bombs. Some spetsnaz and OMAN/MVD are fighting the best and their aggressive tactics of advancing even after taking heavy casualties is interesting. But those large tank units are very scared of Georgian anti tank teams and snipers. So when they come into contact usely a russian TC gets zipped by a Georgian sniper and the whole unit stops and opens fire all over the place. They then call up either the Chechen's/ossetians or spetsnaz/OMAN/MVD to weed out the Georgian hunter killer team.

If this conflict gives the russians any inclination of invading Ukrain or poland they would get smaked around like a 3 dollar prositute. "captain" U.S advisor.

Also between 9-12 russians are getting zipped by Georgian snipers a day. Most are lower adomen shots to wound and tax russian medical system which is poor. They then die 5-8 days later. Russia only counts KIA and not wounded then dies.
Also that first russian unit to take on Georgian troops in ossetia took massive casulitys I am hearing 60 dead and 170 wounded on FIRST hour with 40 armour destroyed. BUT the Georgians were suckered into firing at night and russian Hind and SU-25 could see the muzzle flashes with their IR and blew them to hell, 200 Georgian dead or wounded that night. That also broke the back of the Georgian defenses and caused a retreat.

The Crisis Spreads?

Russia: Poland risks attack because of US missiles By JIM HEINTZ, Associated Press Writer
29 minutes ago

MOSCOW - A top Russian general said Friday that Poland's agreement to accept a U.S. missile interceptor base exposes the ex-communist nation to attack, possibly by nuclear weapons, the Interfax news agency reported.

The statement by Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn is the strongest threat that Russia has issued against the plans to put missile defense elements in former Soviet satellite nations.

Poland and the United States on Thursday signed a deal for Poland to accept a missile interceptor base as part of a system the United States says is aimed at blocking attacks by rogue nations. Moscow, however, feels it is aimed at Russia's missile force.

"Poland, by deploying (the system) is exposing itself to a strike — 100 percent," Nogovitsyn, the deputy chief of staff, was quoted as saying.

He added, in clear reference to the agreement, that Russia's military doctrine sanctions the use of nuclear weapons "against the allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them." Nogovitsyn that would include elements of strategic deterrence systems, he said, according to Interfax.

At a news conference earlier Friday, Nogovitsyn had reiterated Russia's frequently stated warning that placing missile-defense elements in Poland and the Czech Republic would bring an unspecified military response. But his subsequent reported statement substantially stepped up a war of words.

Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski was quoted Friday by the Polish news agency PAP as saying that Poland is open to Russian inspections because it wants to give Moscow "tangible proof" that the planned base is not directed against Russia.

U.S. officials have said the timing of the deal was not meant to antagonize Russian leaders at a time when relations already are strained over the recent fighting between Russia and Georgia over the separatist Georgian region of South Ossetia.

Russian forces went deep into Georgia in the fighting, raising wide concerns that Russia could be seeking to occupy parts of its small, pro-U.S. neighbor, which has vigorously lobbied to join NATO, or even to force its government to collapse.

"I think the Russian behavior over the last several days is generally concerning not only to the United States but to all of our European allies," said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman, when asked about Russian threats against Poland as a result of the missile defense agreement.

He also suggested that earlier U.S. offers for broad cooperation with Moscow on the missile defense program may be reevaluated considering the latest developments.

Under the agreement that Warsaw and Washington reached Thursday, Poland will accept an American missile interceptor base.

Washington says the planned system, which is not yet operational, is needed to protect the U.S. and Europe from possible attacks by missile-armed "rogue states" like Iran. The Kremlin, however, feels it is aimed at Russia's missile force and warns it will worsen tensions.

In an interview on Poland's news channel TVN24, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the United States agreed to help augment Poland's defenses with Patriot missiles in exchange for placing 10 missile defense interceptors in the Eastern European country.

He said the deal also includes a "mutual commitment" between the two nations to come to each other's assistance "in case of trouble."

That clause appeared to be a direct reference to Russia.

Poland has all along been guided by fears of a newly resurgent Russia, an anxiety that has intensified with Russia's offensive in Georgia. In past days, Polish leaders said that fighting justified Poland's demands that it get additional security guarantees from Washington in exchange for allowing the anti-missile base on its soil.

"Simply the existence of this installation increases Poland's security," Polish President Lech Kaczynski said Friday.

___

I don't see Russia attacking Poland outright anytime soon, because that would lead to direct war with the US and EU, but I do think Russia treats this missle defence program with the same kind of attutide that the US and Israel treat the Iranian nuclear program.

Does anyone have info on the Chechen units in Georgia? I read that the 42nd Chechen Division was sent into South Ossetia. I'd like to read about the Chechen units involved and their equipment.

These men are reported to be from Vostok (East) Army unit, Chechen special forces:

what part of my claims are not correct. Chechen's fighting in Georgia, Russians taking 9-12 sniper hits a day, eating the beef cows (see any Chechen's with packs or eating rations. I saw a pack of them eating a cow and stealing toilet seats.) Maybe the Russians running the roads like mad max? I am not sure what you don't think is correct.....a large battle in a city where I claimed from sources that both sides took about 200 casualtys...very reasonable number.

I am sorry I report just for you. Russia has shown to be a professional well disciplined army using land air doctrine to a T. while taking little to no KIA. They have scared the Georgian army by their mere presence. The T-72 has truly proven to be a awesome weapon of battle as those pictures of those tanks with their turrets sitting beside them are just photo shop by the WEST.....is that better.
I love the russian variety of uniforms from urban sheik , tropic green and the good ole Rambo no shirt. The balaclava black and a ten inch beard is my favorite..a beard must be required if your a Chechen uhh soldier. then throw in a little spetsnaz jail house under garments (you no the striped undies) with evergreen flower pattern outer...boy you have a impressive open minded SOP for the professional russian military....do they have a union??....have a good giggle cheers to all ute.
