The point here is that People's War is not just a military doctrine, it's a full spectrum of socio-political-economic treatise.

And to USCDAE, I'm Chinese. People's War in CHINA is protrayed as such. Perhaps you should go back and live there for a few years.

If someone with actual experience said differently(my brother-in-law's father), I will take his word rather than yours. not to mention that my father was a Red Guard and a member of the local militia as well, and my father agree with him on the training aspect.
My father had to report for training for 1 month every year,(He joined both not exactly by will, but due to a series of tragic circumstances when he was young) but then he later joined the Red Guard,and ironic enough, in the end it was him who was the one that got paraded through the street as a counterrevolutionary

and i find this to be rather offensive

I m Chinese as well, but just because i dont live there anymore doesnt not mean I do not know anything about my history or my home country.
I am sure u r already aware of this, but there are a lot of ppl in China that earned the name "shitty youth" for making personal attacks and not being able to debate a subject in a civilized manner. I do hope that you refrain from making any offensive comments in the future.

OK, here's a question relating to Special Forces. The Type 95 Assault Rifles are currently equipped with the Elite Units in the PLA Ground Force or the Special Forces of the PLA [use of special forces is really vague] they also use Type 79/85 Submachine gun's, it is also equipped with SWAT teams of certain China units. Now if the the PLA are going to replace the Type 81 rifle which is currently their main rifle with the Type 95 Assault Rifle as the main rifle for their PLA ground forces in the mid late of 2010. Then what is the Elite Units/Special Forces going to be equipped with? As Special Forces are usually equipped with weapons more differently then the standard soldier. Eg. US troops: Standard gets the M-16, Special gets the M-4. So if the normal PLA troop gets the Type 95 then what do the Elite Units/Special forces get then? As currently the weapons that set apart the Standard troop and the Special Forces/Elite Units is the Type 81 and the Type 95. What happened to the Carbine Version of the Type 95 Assualt Rifle? As the rifle has a shorter barrel length so it cannot be equipped with and grenade launcher which isn't a problem for the Special forces anyway. This could be a possibly solution though the weapons won't be a significant change but it is a difference at least. The standard troop can get the Type 95 assualt rifle that can allow grenade launchers to be attached and the Elite Units/Special Forces could get the Carbine shorten version of the Type 95 rifle. This would simplfy logistics and money. As it is not as much of a significant change in design if one was completly designing a new rifle.

Why? They could just make modifications to type95 that would enable usage of various accessories... Install Picatinny-type rail and use all those fancy toys western SF units use(forward grip / tactical flashlight/aimpoint sights etc.). Basically similar to Steyr AUG( from A1 to A3 version).
I just don't see point in changing rifle just for sake of looking different from regular troops(btw. US SF units aren't only ones using M4 rifles)...

looking at the pictures they seem to be that they are put to the edge i mean look at the guy on fire, then the guys crawling in the trenches getting splashed with dirty water, but psychologically they are going through heaps so i think these SF guys are not the kind of people you want to piss off.

Yeah if you read closer, the suggestion was why doesn't the PLA Special Forces be equipped with the carbine version of the Type 95 rifle as their is little need for special forces for an underbarrel grenade launcher anyway...since the Special forces carry lightly the rifle would also be lighter and shorter rifle to use in conflicts...while as the standard troop can have the standard Type 95 rifle which allows an underbarrel grenade to be attached...

Sorry but I really don't agree. SF are conducting various missions beside SWAT type operations and they need underbarrel grenade launchers. Actually one of first users of underbarrel grenade launchers were US and Australian SF that used XM148 in Vietnam.
While I see use for carbine version in certain type of missions(CQB) standard type95 still has many advantages over carbine.

Yeah true true but the thing is that the M4 rifle has the classic layout, while the Type-95 has the bullpup layout. Which makes the barrel of the Type-95 rifle shorter in length then the M4 rifle. Also to clear things up are you talking about special forces in like ground forces, or special forces in like SWAT and police units? Just to clear things up.
