So it looks like the United States will soon implement its 10% or 0% rule and try to attack non-American corporations supplying Huawei. This will soon end up with international corporations attacked by America and asking for the help of their home countries. We'll see how those corporations and countries respond and what happens.

The rest of the world seems to be trying to maintain neutrality in the Huawei fight. They are not fans of China, but they are also quite annoyed by Trump's attacks. Will they bend or not? We'll soon find out the answer. I suspect the Trump White House is in a bit of an echo chamber bubble, and the world will bend less than the Americans hope.
i
If Trump inplement this rule, quote "The change in position would make it harder for US companies to get around an effective export ban that already applies to Huawei", it is an attack of American companies as much as attacking Huawei.

US DOJ goes after Huawei under RICO charges, the first for any major corporation!

They also added new charges to Meng, potentially up to 30 years prison if extradicted and convicted

Pentagon now sides with Trump, allowing the 25% rule to go down to 10% or even 0%

Some are saying the new charges and the RICO charges are to pave the way for the Trump admin to declare all of Huawei's patents to be illemgiatme and thus American companies like Verizon will be able to use them without paying any loyaltyies

Also they are saying this adding of more charges and labeling Huawei as a criminal mafia enteprise etc will compel UK to change its stance and decide to ban huawei for good, as well as germany and others to follow the US lead in banning Huawei.

They also pinpointed Huawei chairman as guilty so if he travels to any Five Eyes nations he may get arrested and kidnapped as well!

I'm not too worried about the patents. As we have seen with semiconductors, patents give a general picture but far from the whole secret. Additionally, no American company operates in the network communications chunk that Huawei has.

So attempting to invalidate Huawei's patents doesn't provide any American company any advantage. I have zero concern about a company like Verizon, which never has created (and never will create) a single innovative product in the history of its existence.

The main worry is the 10% to 0% ban. We'll have to see how the rest of the world responds. I hope they won't bend.

The step after that is trying to cut off Huawei's access to international finance. That's actually Huawei's biggest weakness imo.

This move proves and shows the rest of the Chinese tech companies that America can not be trusted ever again, and if they want to survive they best band together and help one another.

O well. Then China can just declare any and all US patents invalid anywhere.

China has (correctly) identified Google, Microsoft, Facebook, among others as criminal mafia organisations with ties to US upper clandestine government WELL before Snowden, Assange, and Manning were well known whistleblowers. So the devils in control already made less from China and were not able to sink their claws into Chinese society and telecom. They are simply reacting to Chinese bans of western technology over a decade ago. Of course having Huawei service the telecom industry in any country is a big blow to them because they can't embed their very real spy, data collection, and disruption back doors. This is proven. They hacked Merkel's phone FFS and this is the "tip of the iceberg"! Huawei has been proven innocent and clean by India even and a host of western third parties. The only accuser is certain branches of the US government... gee I guess we can trust them eh... those commies are definitely bad lol

I think it's very good. The uglier it gets, the closer we get to the US admitting defeat. You can't beat someone without forcing him to play out all his cards. The more cards he lays down that are ineffective the more it shows he's at the end of the line. The whole world knows that the US has no legitimate reason to attack Huawei other than that Huawei is doing too well; at this point, the US won't win any allies over by showing its ugliness; it's just further eroding its own global image by rolling around in the mud with this temper tantrum. The uglier the US gets, the more the world cheers for Huawei; we've seen this already.
