You can always play definition games: maybe Huawei doesn't satisfy your personal definition of communism. But Huawei's ownership structure is certainly closer to the communist ideal than Boeing is. My point is that whatever Huawei is doing is not purely capitalist: the employees are working for each other, not for some billionaire dictator boss. Whatever Huawei is doing, it works marvelously well -- better than whatever Boeing is doing.

And that is what scares the U.S. billionaires like Trump: if Huawei continues to excel, people will start asking whether billionaires are necessary. This is probably a major reason why Huawei has been singled out for such dirty treatment (like the kidnapping of a company official).
Employee-owned business is not uniquely communist. There are plenty of them in the West and are considered better in productivity and performance than nonemployee-owned companies.

As I said (and as you clearly didn't understand), Huawei is far CLOSER to being communist than a company like Boeing. Huawei's employees work for each other, not for a boss who wants to personally pocket as much value as possible from his hirelings.

Huawei is unique in being probably bigger than all of those Western employee-owned businesses combined -- and bigger than Boeing. That is probably why The Powers That Be in the U.S. view it as such a threat. And that is also probably why these powers are playing so dirty with respect to Huawei (such as kidnapping an official of the company).

A non state owned company that self identifies any political and/or social ideology can only be self defeating. It will limit its own options to react to business environment. I am sure Huawei will not hesitate to issue IPO if it believes it is the best way for the company to raise funds. Even then, US will still be going after her.

In the US, there is hardly any company self label as Democratic or Republican company just because its own employees overwhelmingly donate to Democratic or Republican candidates through its own company political action funds. Only detractors of the company or people with personal agenda will try to use such "name calling".

Of course, there are exceptions like the US fast food chain Chick-fil-A is one. Even then, it had to back peddle on several of its political and religious stands due to customer reaction.

I have drifted off topics quite a bit. Going to stop here.

maybe US wants Huawei to go public so America can take a controlling stake in it, like how CIA did with Swiss Crypto company and what Trump last week talked about with Nokia and Ericsson

Because it's self inflicting since both sides are pro capitalist. That's the difference of Huawei. A CCP -and only- workers union probably exists in the company, so things in China are different in short.

Maybe but collective ownership of Huawei ends inside Chinese boundries. Going public in US means only capital flow, it doesn't effect control and management. That's why Trump turned to Nokia and Ericsson

So it looks like the United States will soon implement its 10% or 0% rule and try to attack non-American corporations supplying Huawei. This will soon end up with international corporations attacked by America and asking for the help of their home countries. We'll see how those corporations and countries respond and what happens.

The rest of the world seems to be trying to maintain neutrality in the Huawei fight. They are not fans of China, but they are also quite annoyed by Trump's attacks. Will they bend or not? We'll soon find out the answer. I suspect the Trump White House is in a bit of an echo chamber bubble, and the world will bend less than the Americans hope.

it is a war against China:
1) of ideology. Communist Huawei cannot be allowed to be so successful in business as to eclipse major US corporations. Otherwise the narrative of American democracy and capitalism being superior to and triumphs over Chinese authoritarian system in business development model would be seriously undermined with significant long term impact. America is forcing everyone to take side, while she still has the power to do so. You may argue that this is a short-sighted move, like drinking poison to quench the thirst, but what can Trump do otherwise?
2) of technology. US is really desperate to stop Huawei in its track to be world's number 1 in 5G ( and possibly 6G as well ) technology. America loathes and cannot afford to lose patents, standards, market share, market leadership and future directions, all precious trophies, to China.
I suspect Europe is the main battle ground, in this contest of the will, ideology and financial gains. Europe is suit of caught between 2 lovers, and not quite sure what to do, as reflected by her swinging like a pendulum, between USA and China.

Why would Huawei need an initial public offering to raise funds? The company is already making eight BILLION dollars of profit every year. They can easily finance their own activities.

True. The U.S. wants submission to the dictatorship of billionaires.
