PLAN SCS Bases/Islands/Vessels (Not a Strategy Page)

It has been such a long time since we've seen photos of Fiery, Subi and the others islands. Is there any reasons for that ?

The US realised that they have no viable military option now that those islands are in place, so stopped stirring up tensions in the region.

Without overt and covert US support and encouragement, the likes of Vietnam, the Phillipines and Australia etc have also stood down, and overall tensions are now significantly eased.

Without external provocation, China has no reason to flaunt its new-build dominance of the region with excessive reporting, so things are now quiet again in the region like before America’s pivot to Asia.

Guys a freind of mine told me the USS Missouri can be reactivated against China in the south china sea what do you think about his opinion it sounds crazy , i live near pearl harbor btw lol
Could you stop posting one liners? Read the forum rules first! The photo of an old US battleship have nothing to do with this thread. And rumors u hear on the street is not worthy to post on the forum.

Judging by recent fawning tweets by Trump towards Xi, it would seem the Americans are keen to ease tensions with China, so I don't think we'll be hearing much about the Spratley dispute in the west for a while. I imagine the Chinese would prefer it to be kept quiet too, as it makes it less likely other countries involved in the dispute will kick off. Australia has several good reasons not to draw attention to the matter either.

Basically, it is economic factors. They need to balance between politics and economy. Besides China being the largest export market for Australian products, Australia is also making profits from Chinese students and tourist, among others.
