That is... depressing.

Yea, in the same way that the US strategy sets itself up for winning two major wars in two different parts of the world, China should set its strategy towards matching or surpassing NATO + Japan + India + Australia (sans Turkey).

I’m looking forward to whatever comes after Type 52D, hopefully we know more in the next 2 years.

correction .. the US strategy is no longer to win 2 major wars at the same time .. it was a strategy during Clinton's

The US hasn't won any major wars since WW-2 (Korea, Vietnam, etc)

and the US still losing even a minor war (i.e Afghanistan, Iraq )

tanker war, Granada, Panama, Iraq invasions 1991, 2003 etc all won by the US.

The 052E should carry as many VLS (or even more than) as ABs. That´s the only way to counter the us number of vls.

WZ-8 Hypersonic Recon drones with DF-17 Hypersonic Glide Vehicles could be better option, to name one.

Seeking to directly equal the number of VLS on a ship to ship basis or even on a fleet to fleet basis is not sensible.

Ships and total armament is driven by strategic military requirements in a combined arms manner.

LOL, what I love the most about Americans is that, as the only superpower remaining, they will not let go of the chance to use even the most trivial little gain they had on the most unnoteworthy battlefield to boost their own ego. They really reminds me of, (pardon my coarseness), a mental illness called "little dick syndrome".

But I do love American culture, arts, thoughts. And I do respect and admire their achievements and their unparalleled contribution to humanity.
