If this is true, the PLAN is looking to sell off the two Type 054 rather than upgrade them for its own use.

I won't be surprise if FFG 525 and 526 are up for sales if there is request from potential buyer. Having a single class of FFG will make logistic and maintenance much simple. After all there is no lack in number for type 054A.
This also means other older FFGs will be sold too if there is requests from foreign navies. Bangladesh Navy is rumoured to have make order to buy another two type 053H3 from PLAN's current stock. 70 plus type 056 corvettes are more than sufficient to take over the roles of type 053 FFGs and type 037 Sub-chasers.

Selling them makes a great deal of sense. Only two ships of the Type 054 class were built before switching to the far more capable Type 054A class. Their weapons and electronics fits are outdated and would be expensive to update. Much better to focus on finishing the production run for the Type 054A class and getting ready to start producing the next gen frigate class.
Those two were essentially prototypes. 054A probably received many internal and digital upgrades not to mention VLS systems and a completely new armament package. The only thing they kept around was the hull geometry.
Doubt there would be buyers for these two though. Just doesn't fit in with any decent navy and the other ones will struggle to pay.

Pakistan navy already has predecessor frigates with hybrid design from 053H3 and 054. They have also ordered the successor to 054, the A/P variant. So, they could certainly be a potential buyer.
It’s rumored Bangladesh is negotiating on these 054.

Not directly 054 related (yet??), but this is a new rotating radar being tested aboard 892, from laonian and loong naval
Its size and geometry suggests to me it could be a rotating AESA that's probably twin faced, and could make for an appropriate mast mounted main search radar for 054B.
As a rotating AESA mounted on top of a mast, presumably it would have a relatively fast rotation and would be not dissmilar to sampson in terms of concept. Such a system would be quite appropriate for a frigate sized ship imo.
If we compare it with the sea eagle radar tested on the sister ship 891 in the past (picture 2), it looks like they're about similar in size
