Further examples of how Hong Kong could have been if it wasn't for the foreign influence (interference).

In Macao today, president Xi's motorcade being welcome for the 20th anniversary celebration, whilst the traitor "long hair" is being denied entry along with unsavioury media!

I just wish one day the Chinese president could do the same in Hong Kong without having to worry about the thugs "feelings"!
the first three photos seems to be in France (the tri-color).

You forget the active purges of accounts by all western social media of anyone who posts against the western party line

The social media posts we see on this thread are only preserved because they are in Chinese and aimed at Chinese audiences. Anything in English that looks like it might start reaching a wider western audience will get purged in the name of free speech.

Yeah, well said. I did forget about that! This just to show the grip on information from the MSM is total! I also forget to mention that evertime they report anything from China, they always mentioned that it is subject to censorship, etc. Or it is China's mouthpiece, state media. State controlled, etc.

But it's ironic, that when the west censor anything it is because of safeguarding, refusual to give terrorist a voice. Etc. Or they simply makes it illegal. Requiring all journalist to have a license (issue by their government controlled agency). And if all that fails, they just simply tell their viewers (yes, literally) their broadcasters are free and independent! Lol, never mind that it is public funded and its Chairman is government appointed which makes him a civil servant! Lol

But now, GDPper Capital in Macau is one of the heighest in Asia. And there's talk of plans to diversfy the economy. Although I still think it will be Shenzhen that's going to take over in the future!

Macau got more land a few days ago, so there will room for its population (and economy) to grow.

Macau also got permission to set up a financial center -- in direct competition with Hong Kong. This is probably causing Hong Kong's ruling oligarchs to lose some sleep.

I always thought the Pearl River Delta region would be an economic powerhouse, with three (!) Tier 1 cities: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. Now perhaps the Tier 1 cities will be Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Macau/Zhuhai.

Yes, it's breaking my heart. Just think, people like us standing under the mid-day sun for two buckets of water to build this great city. And then spoilt brats like them come along to destory it....... because the world is "unfair", and they can't have it they own way!

Lol, I might sound like an old hand, but I can’t take credit for any building, I’m Canadian through and through. I just go by the stories my family tells me and what I remember seeing every time I’ve gone over the years. Don’t want to be accused of “stolen valour”.

Yes, a country's own soldiers shouldn't have to hide away their uniforms because it might offend certain members of the public! You don't get that anywhere in the world!

Actually, there was a time in Canada when orders were issued to avoid military uniforms in public. Lone wolf terrorists killed two Forces members in the same month.

Your post(s) just reminded me of it (though I was done at the time)

We at bottom prices yet? Maybe we should buy some real estate there and profit once we’ve taken out all the terrorists.

The financial issues at HK express were already happening before the riots. HK Express is part of HNA (Hainan Airlines) group which was amongst the companies that were targeted for over-leveraging to fuel foreign acquisitions (others included Wanda group, and Anbang Insurance)

For the past few months the BBC/CNN/Fox/NYtimes/WP etc. put out hundreds of articles on Hong Kong protests in which not a single person has died.

On the other hand, there are massive violent protests happening all over India right now with people killed by security forces. Right now, there are fires in Dehli and protesters are clashing with police in the Indian capital. And yet, not nearly as much coverage.

Quite the bias... If these protests were happening in HK they would be all over US/UK media with 24/7 coverage.
